I've been meaning to get a post written, but my brain seemed to need a break--haha! First is a card I posted on Flickr & it's one of my favorites this year.
My sweet friend, Susanne, sent me a couple SSS Bare Tree Oval Collage die cuts. I started by adding Nuvo Glimmer Paste through the SSS Falling Snow stencil. Then I blended a couple Distress Inks on a panel of textured white cardstock for the background. The sentiment from AJVD (thank you, Rosemary) was stamped in Versafine Clair brown & the little wooden star was silver embossed. I entered SSS Flickr, Flickr Love Handmade Cards & SSS Christmas Card Day.
Next is my entry for PTI MIM Ombre Sentiments. I've hardly used Splits: Just a Note, but really love it.
This time I kept it very simple & white embossed the image on a Soft Stone panel. The sentiment was then stamped in Smokey Shadow & Weathervane for the ombre. Gotta say, think I'll use that more often for sentiments. My order with Pierced Feature Frames dies just arrived & I cut the large one from Smokey Shadow. I didn't want to add color to the image, so just used Pico Embellisher Shimmer.
Love the super fine applicator tip the Pico Embellishers have. I'm also entering AAA (3 words).
My last card is one of few multiples I did for Christmas this year. I make a one layer card for hubby's 13 cousins we've only known a few years. Most of them live near each other, so wouldn't want anyone to feel they didn't get as nice a card--haha!
I stamped the 2009 Hero Arts Big Pine Bough in green on each card & then switched to gold & overstamped each one. It didn't have to be exact, so a great way to use a wood mounted stamp for multiple cards. The HA 2007 wood mounted sentiment from Traditional Messages was stamped using a well-inked red pad, so no second stamping needed. These were so easy to complete, I decided to add Christmas Red Stickles for some berries. I'm entering ABNH, CAS on Friday & PB & More.
Thanks so much for taking time to stop by. If your blog address is in your profile or comment, I will visit you. Wishing everyone a lovely Christmas.
