April CCC

It's reveal day for April CCC.  I'd been wanting to use my CN9 Turnabout stamps, so pulled out the one called Botanical.  I often use only the friendship option, but this time the color combo was right up my alley with Peony/White/Leaf.  For the pink I used Altenew Blush and for the green I used their Seashore set of 4 cubes.  

I have the dies that go with this Turnabout, but not sure I had ever used them.  The triangle cuts the thin frame as well as the center.  I used vellum and matte gold cardstock.  I stamped and die cut 2 flowers and brushed them with Rouge, darker on the tips.  I wasn't happy with the white lines and edges, so I added a light brushing of the diecuts with ink left in the brush--much better.  The sentiment was made with an Alex Syberia die.  I had penpals when I was a kid and CCC makes me think of that.  I'm one of the old timers and am very grateful to Gail and Jo for keeping CCC going.  Check it out if you'd like to make and receive a card each month.  There's no commitment--just sign up any month you want to participate.  I'm entering SSS Wednesday and WAW.

Turnabout Card

Surprise!  Yep--back in a day because Just Us Girls Color Week gallery is about to close.  I've been wanting to use one of my CN9 Turnabout stamps and decided Lovely Blossoms would work well using the challenge colors of Peach, Lavender, Gray.  

Pretty sure I've never used that combo before, but I do love pastels.  Decided silver would look good with it, so pulled out CN9 Nectar and Lilac along with Lawn Fawn Manatee.  I silver embossed the 4th turn.  Also hadn't used my Frantic Stamper arch dies in awhile, so used the largest one to die cut the panel.  An old Spellbinders die kit included the sweet flowers & stems that I thought went well with the background.  I used the same inks to color them and arranged them along the side.  The Pinkfresh Perfect Sentiments are such a great font and now that I've cut apart the stamps, I can actually use them!  Hello was stamped in Manatee and covered with Shimmer Pico Embellisher.  

I don't have all that many silver embellishments, but I did find very old Stampendous Diamond Dots in my stash.  The tiny ones fit perfectly in the flower centers and the big ones added a little sparkle to the card.  They're flat, so also mail friendly.  I wanted a bit more silver, but didn't have a larger arch die.  Luckily, I thought of just adding a strip of silver metallic cardstock and that was just what it needed.  Not a typical card for me, but it's fun to do something a little different.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday.

Friendship and Christmas

Last minute entry for the Altenew November challenge using Dreamy Daylillies embossing folder & stencils, plus the word die in the bundle.  

Whoever came up with stencils to color embossing folders is a genius in my book--haha!  I picked out inks that were as close as I could get to the challenge colors:  PTI Autumn Rose, Altenew Fuschia & Hydrangea.  I covered the ends of the stamens in Nuvo Glaze & added silver splatters.

The embossing is so beautiful, I kept it simple with just a silver strip & word.  Can't wait to use this folder again with different colors.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday.

I participate in a Christmas card exchange each year.  This time I used CN9 Tiny Trees Turnabout with a different color combo for each card.  This one has been received, so I'll post it here & enter Christmas Kickstart, Rudolph Days, SSS Monday & SSS Wednesday. 

Three turns were stamped in PTI Lilac Grace, Lavender Moon & Amethyst Allure, with the 4th turn silver embossed.  One of the separate trees in the set was also silver embossed with Amethyst for the trunk.  To make the tree stand out from the background, I die cut a vellum oval & brushed the back with the Amethyst ink. 

I added Silver Stickles & a sequin to the tree, stamped the sentiment from the set to match & used Amethyst Allure cardstock for the mat.  I knew the recipient loved purple & I'm happy to say she likes her card.

More Cards

Hard to believe it's June!  Luckily, Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero Dance of the Flowers Challenge is still open.  I pulled out the HA Paper Layering Dandelion die that my friend, Betty, gave me long ago.  

I die cut twice from a scrap of cardstock & spritzed one with Tattered Angels Caribbean Blue & the other with Meadow Green.  The shimmery metallic is so beautiful!  I also splattered them with Brushed Pewter Distress Stain to tie in with the leftover PFS Small Butterfly which I colored with Spellbinders silver metallic pen.  There's a video in my IG post showing the shimmer & sparkle.  The sentiment from a 2009 HA clear set was stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist a couple times on a white scrap & cut with a PTI flag die.  Love the white on white background using HA Bold Graphic Confetti cover plate & the look of droplets from PTI Rainstones.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday & Snippets Playground.

I've participated in the CCC card exchange for many years.  It's fun to send & receive cards from all over the world.  Last month the optional color combo was 2 shades of blue plus gold.  I made it 3 blues so I had 4 colors to stamp C&9 Botanical Turnabout stamp.  The Hero Arts inks are Cornflower, Soft Sky & Soft Pool.  I heat embossed the gold layer & added gold splatters.  

Gotta say, I really love this combo which I probably would never have come up with.  I used dies that came with the set to make the gold embossed frame decorated with a bloom & leaves.  Here's a close up to try & show the gold embossing.  It looks like a different card, but it's not.

The Poppystamps sentiment was stacked with white, blue & a gold embossed layer.  I found a stamp with the word "Friend" that I could trim for the sub-sentiment.

Pinkfresh Studio, Stencils & Turnabouts

I have a few cards to show you today, starting with my entry for PFS Monthly Challenge.  I used the theme of stripes & gradients with all PFS dies.  

The Color Block Stripes pieces were brushed with Distress Oxides candied apple, abandoned coral & saltwater taffy.  Probably this combo has been done before, but I just ended up with it looking for inks I have that could make a gradient.  Now I want to use them on a blended background!  Delicate Wreath die cut was double embossed in WOW White Twinkle ep which gives an incredible sparkle!  

I tried a variety of combos for the sentiment from Classic Holiday Words & ended up liking the white shadow with silver metallic words.  The matching embellishment dots were made by inking up scraps in the 3 DOs, clear embossing them & then diecutting with the berries die from Layered Wreath.  I have a bunch more dots ready to use, so I plan to use them as berries on some wreaths. 

Next is my entry for TTTC180 using the diagonal row of Stencil, Sentiment, Berries.  I love Gina K's Stellar Snowflake stencil & wanted to try using it with blue & purple Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. 

I call it an artsy look, but to some people it's probably messy--haha!  Anyway, I like it, so cut down the panel & splattered with Distress Stain Tarnished Pewter.  I love the shimmer from the Mists & Stain. 

The frame is PTI Pierced Feature Frames Rectangle & the silver embossed berry branches are from PTI Spruce & Sprigs.  I used old circle dies for the sentiment from GKD Festive Flowers.  Luckily I had the right shade of purple cardstock in my stash for the purple mats.  Tried various embellishments & really liked the Spellbinders silver dots.  I'm also entering SSS Monday & Rudolph Days.

Recently I made cards with a couple of my CN9 Turnabout stamp sets & posted them on IG.  Love how they turned out, so thought you might like to see them.  First is the Wreath Turnabout stamped in PTI Scarlet Jewel, Sweet Blush, Honey Nut & Simply Chartreuse.  I restamped each turn until I had the color intensity I wanted.  

I'm loving this color combo, even thought it isn't a traditional one for Fall.  I brushed the card front to match.  The stacked sentiment is from Spellbinders October 2020 Small Die Kit.  I covered the word in shimmer & added tiny pearls.  

Stacking & adhering the delicate word was a cinch using SSS Micro Dot Adhesive sheet.  I'm always going to have that on hand!

The other card went to my sister who has a big birthday tomorrow!  I wasn't sure an ombre pallette would work for Turnabouts, but I just love it!

I picked the color because I happen to have an Altenew set of 4 teal ink cubes.   I stamped the separate branch from the set using the 3 lightest shades & stamped Winnie & Walter's "birthday" in the darkest.

The W&W Happy diecut was double embossed in WOW Embossing White Twinkle ep.  I added shimmer to the branches & embellished the card with clear dots.  Think my sister is going to like this one.
