Christmas and Birthday

I missed posting my card for last month's Woodblock Wednesday, so had it ready to go for the August challenge.  DeNami was one of the first companies I discovered when I started stamping.  I still have and love many of them, including this one from 1999.  

I stamped in Versafine Clair Green Oasis and PTI Pure Poppy.  Birch Press Handwritten Merry Christmas and Outline was die cut from vellum and cardstock I inked with Pure Poppy.  You can see the green and red Stickles in my IG post.  I love how beautiful elements let you create a simple card that is pretty and festive, but flat for mailing.  

Finally finished my card for the August Stay Crafty with Hero challenge.  I was the lucky winner of May's card kit which has a beautiful cake image.  I've been telling myself to use my Zigs, so gold embossed with HA powder on Bristol paper.  

The images are are pretty small, so not as intimidating for me to color.  I learned from Amy Tsuruta that Zig makes a blender brush.  Oh boy does it work great!  The cake plate was colored with Spellbinders gold pen, although here it looks brown.  I used a gold gel pen to cover the white edges after diecutting.  The kraft mat and card front were splattered with gold watercolor.  

The Gina Marie rectangle diecut was in the bag where I store the ones waiting to be used.  Usually I forget to check it!😊 I found just the sentiment I wanted in the 2011 HA set called Congrats and it stamped perfectly with one try.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday and Allsorts challenge to include a sentiment, hosted by my friend Brenda.

Christmas in July plus

As you might guess, Christmas in July is one of my favorite themes!  Couldn't wait to make a card for DCD using my new Taylored Expressions Modern Eucalyptus Wreath kit.  I very seldom buy kits, but immediately fell in love with this one.  Couldn't get it out of my mind & it wasn't sold out days later when I checked.  Luckily, I discovered that I could get a good discount using my reward points.  That did it & I'm not at all sorry--haha!  The stencils line up just using the corner of a MISTI.  

I brushed on PTI Ripe Avocado, Simply Chartreuse, Ocean Tides & Pinefeather.  After using the coordinating dies, I decided to add them to the Tim Holtz Funky Wreaths image cut from shiny, silver cardstock.  The berries die from PFS Layered Wreath was used with leftover pieces of cardstock covered with double sided adhesive.  I removed the release paper & dipped them into WOW Peachy Keen Sparkles using tweezers.  Makes adding glitter so easy. 

This Sparkles looks like a mix of pink & silver to me.  At any rate, it is gorgeous with lots of sparkle & I love how it doesn't rub off.  I'll have to try using it with glue & see if it's just as secure.  The sentiment is PFS Classic Holiday Words & the panel is die cut with PFS Blanket Stitched Rectangle.  

I seldom make baby cards, so don't really have stamps & dies designed for them.  But I wanted to welcome a baby boy, so put on my thinking cap.  Decided PTI Spring Rain makes a nice baby blue, so started by embossing a panel with a Tim Holtz faded stars folder.  

I had FMS challenge in mind, so die cut CAS-ual Fridays stars from PTI Blueberry Sky cardstock.  The edges were brushed with a shimmer pen--pretty in person.  Hard coming up with a sentiment, but finally decided on these 2 words from PTI Tiny Tags.  

Color Hues is calling for Red & Blue, so I made red my accent color using Christmas Red Stickles on the little heart & random dots in the background.

I also seldom make wedding cards, but had fun making this simple one for a family member.  

I got as close as I could to the bride's colors of navy, dusty blue & gold.  The hearts are AJVD, the letters are Flourishes & the die cut rectangle is Gina Marie.

More Cards

Finally got my driver's license renewed, so I'm driving legally again!  Not that I'm actually driving very often these days.  I don't have a passport, so decided to get the Real ID.  Wasn't sure I'd ever get on a plane again, but with the vaccine maybe I will!  

Here's a card I posted awhile back on IG for TTTC102.  I made a cardstock stencil from Stamplorations Bloomtangled 1 die, placed it over a wc panel & spritzed with Tattered Angels Turquoise Blue & Meadow Greens Glimmer Mists.  

The mat is Gina Marie Loopy Rectangle & the word is SSS Painted Thanks stacked 3 high & covered in Nuvo Glaze.

Next is my card for Gina K Monthly Mix Challenge & ModSquad Challenge.  I masked an area & blended Distress Oxides fossilized amber, spiced marmalade, broken china & faded jeans to give the impression of a sunrise. 

This is my first card using the sentiment & butterfly from Gina K A Big Hello.  The brown ink is Versafine Clair Acorn & I embossed the butterfly with Hero Arts Sparkle ep.

I also made a couple more Easter cards.  First is my entry for ITP/PTI The Great Cover-Up Challenge to make a watercolor card.  

Last time I got out the Garden Gild dies, I cut a bunch, not knowing how many I'd need.  Since they were die cut from Bristol, I colored a few of the leftovers with my Zigs.  For the background I did a watercolor wash of Blueberry Sky & added the Shape Shifters Oval 3 die cut.  

I die cut several of the Impression Obsession sentiment die cuts coloring the shadow with a green Zig & white embossing the top layer.

One more Easter card & this time I used a blossom from SSS Spring Flowers, a Stampendous sentiment & Cuttlebug Modern Wallpaper embossing folder.  

I added some color to the pink, textured cardstock with markers & brushed the petals with a glimmer pen.  

Finished off with charcoal gems & black enamel dots.  I'm entering Just Us Girls, TTTC104 (Die Cut, Flower, Coloring) & SSS Flickr #171.

Flowers

I'm a little behind blogging my cards, but thankfully our puppydog, Fritz, has had 4 good days in a row.  Hopefully, we're on the right track.  Here are 3 of my recent floral cards.
First up is my entry for PTI LFF: Favorite Style.  I don't have a signature style, but I do love what I call Fresh & Simple.  It's not exactly CAS, as there can be layers & there's not necessarily a lot of white space.

I made a one layer notecard that's a bit smaller than A2 size.  The images from PTI Friendship Jar Flowers were stamped in New Leaf, Green Parakeet, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart, Spring Rain, Lavender Moon & Amethyst Allure.  I added green splatters, yellow Stickles, white crochet thread & dots of Wedding Dress Pico Embellisher.  I'm also entering JUGs, SSS Wednesday & Time Out.

Quite awhile ago, I won some stamps from Virginia, including a beautiful one from The Ton.  I finally inked it up & stamped on kraft in brown & white metallic inks.

The sentiment from TPC Studio was stamped in dark brown & the panel was mounted with fun foam.  Finished off with 3 brown sequins.  I'm entering AAA, CAS on Friday, Inkspirational & SSS Wednesday.
  
My last card uses SSS Spring Flowers & a Hero Arts jar.  I've never used the jar or tried to show water, but Michelle's card inspired me to give it a try.

The blooms & leaves were silver embossed & watercolored with Zigs.  The jar was stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist & fussy cut.  Again I used Zigs to watercolor, using a blue for the water & a bit of light gray where the jar is empty.  I masked the jar ring & stamped the stems in silver using a Winnie & Walter simple stem.  I stamped each one several times to get the width I needed to match the die cuts which I also colored with the silver ink.  I used scissors to cut the opening for the stems.  The background is done with a PTI frame die & a Gina Marie die cut mat.  Gotta say,  I really had fun challenging myself to do something new & I love how it turned out.  I'm entering DCD, Allsorts, SSS Wednesday, SSS WIW & Virginia's Show & Share.
