Heart Resist

Almost forgot to enter my card for the Impression Obsession I Adore You challenge which is about to close.  I still love the beautiful heart image, C2024, I've had quite awhile.
The image was clear embossed on white cardstock & then I blended with Distress Oxides wilted violet & worn lipstick.  It's framed with another of my unused All-in-One Frames Ovals from my first 2 cuts.  I'm loving all the sizes you get with one run through the die cut machine.  This frame has 2 glued together for a bit of dimension, but flat enough for mailing.  I like the slightly softer look by clear embossing instead of using white powder.  The front of the card is covered with a white shimmer cardstock.  I used to buy this in every color whenever I saw it in a store on sale.
The focal point also has shimmer from Perfect Pearls mist & I finished off with Nuvo glitter drops.  I'll put a Valentine sentiment on the inside & it will go to a friend.  I'm also entering SSS Monday, SSS Wednesday & WAW.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Edited to add: also entering SSS Work it Wednesday.

PRS Create it Wednesday~Enjoy the Moment

I'm up on the PRS Blog today with a black and white card made with the new Daily Thoughts stamp set.  Yes, we still have an old boom box & cassette tapes that hubby uses in the garage!

I started by stamping the cassette tape image randomly across a black panel in Delicata White Shimmer ink.  The trio of stars was stamped in a visual triangle to add interest.  There are so many encouraging sentiments in this stamp set.  I chose one that reminds us it's good to pause in our busy lives and enjoy the moment.  I love how it goes perfectly with the cassette image.  Tiny black splatters give the sentiment strip a bit less contrast with the black.

See the 2 little stars to the right of the big one?  There’s enough space to ink just those 2 and that’s what I did for the left side of the card.  It ties everything together and makes the black panel pop.

Big Hugs

Having some trouble finding my mojo, but finally did get a card made last night for Ellen Hutson Pin-Sights & CAS(E) this Sketch.  I used my EH Bold Blossoms stamps I made from fun foam with the dies.
The inspiration board is full of purple & green--perfect for flowers.  I used 2 of my old favorite ink pads--Brilliance Pearlescent Lavender & Pearlescent Lime.  I white embossed & popped up the sentiment which is from a set I won years ago & had never opened.  It's from Cardz TV & is called Encouraging Thoughts.  I've already used that set again for another card I'll post soon.  Decided against any embellishments & just added tiny purple & green splatters.  I'm also entering HLS CAS & The Snippets Playground.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Snowflakes

Not a snowflake to be found at our house this year, which isn't terribly unusual.  Now that I'm retired I could have enjoyed having it here this year with no worries about getting to and from work.  At least our mountains are finally getting some & I can enjoy snowflake stamps & dies.  That brings me to my card using Poppystamps Stitched Snowflake Cutouts die for the first time.
The die was cut once from a dark blue textured cardstock panel with stitching from Lil' Inker stitched rectangle.  It was attached to a card front covered with Heidi Swapp silver glitter paper.  I intended to use the snowflakes for a separate card, but changed my mind when I laid them over the negative spaces--so pretty.  The sentiment from my newest Stampendous stamp set called Winter White (thank you Mr Random!) was stamped in PTI Enchanted Evening multiple times to get it nice & dark.  I really love this sentiment--perfect for cards going to blogging friends.  Finished off with clear gems in the center of each snowflake.  I'm entering PoppystampsRudolph DaysHLS Anything Goes with Dies, Merry Monday & SSS Wednesday.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop Challenge

Pretty stormy last night & we even lost our electricity.  Finally came back on, so I'm getting a late start to the day.  Didn't see any reason to get up at the usual time when I couldn't make coffee--haha!

Fortunately, I did make my card for the PTI January Blog Hop last night.  I tried out 5 or 6 designs on scratch paper with PTI Garden Gild & eventually got one I liked.  My inspiration came from the pink, aqua & gold cones in the bottom right corner of the picture, along with all the white & a birthday theme.

I really am a stamper at heart, not that I don't love using dies.  But once again I ended up with a CAS one layer card.  The 2 foliage stamps were placed on an acrylic block & stamped across the top of the card in Delicata Golden Glitz, alternating each time.  Then I stamped one little flower in Lovely Lady & the other one in Aqua Mist.  The large word was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa with Classic Kraft for the shadow, so I'm also entering PTI MIM
Finished off with tiny splatters of the pink & aqua & clear gems in the flower centers.  Originally I was thinking of a wreath, but I love how this turned out.  Probably need to just sit & play more often, rather than trying to force something to work.  Always tons of inspiration in the hops--enjoy & thanks for taking time to stop by.  I'm also entering Time Out & W2CB.

CAS Thank You

Cool, rainy days & Fritz would rather nap than walk--can't blame him!  I've made some cards lately, so better start posting them before the challenges end.
I created a very CAS thank you card using new stamps & dies which I got with gift certificates.
The stamps are from Stamplorations Frames & Flowers and the frame is Impression Obsession All-in-One-Frames-Ovals.  I stamped the frame, flowers & leaves in Delicata Silvery Shimmer--beautiful in person.  The sentiment is stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black--my favorite black for sentiments.  The black frame die-cuts (I stacked 2) were left over & still sitting on my table.  The die gives you 5 frames & a small oval at once.  I had only used 1 of the sizes & saw that this one fit the stamped frame perfectly!  Can't really tell in the photo, but I also added tiny splatters of brushed pewter Distress Stain.
Finished off with a single black dot.  I'm entering Stamplorations January CAS challenge, Penny Black & More, SSS Wednesday, SSS Work it WednesdayWAW.

Precious Remembrance Shop Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the PRS New Release Blog Hop!  We're sharing projects using the new Daily Thoughts Bits & Pieces.

This collections makes projects so easy to create.  There's a variety of colors, images & sayings--lots to choose from.  Most of the Bits & Pieces have matching stamps in the Daily Thoughts stamp set we showcased yesterday.

I decided to go CAS for my card which uses 4 of the paper die cuts.

I attached the "You are wonderful" piece to the cassette tape as the label.  One of the little red stars was covered in Crystal Laquer & used to embellish the circle sentiment which I layered under the tape.  I didn't have quite the right embossing folder, so I used a scoring board to make my own design.  Before attaching the die cuts, I made some tiny splatters with black ink.  You never know exactly how the splatters will turn out, but that's part of the fun!
Here's the Blog Hop line up--lots of inspiration!  Be sure to leave comments all along the way to be entered to win the random drawing for the new Daily Thoughts Bits & Pieces.

Precious Remembrance Shop Blog Hop Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of the PRS New Release Blog Hop!  We're sharing projects using the new stamp set Daily Thoughts.
The cassette tape image is so fun & I love the little encouraging thoughts.  However, my card today uses some of the big words along with the brushed image from the Totally stamp set.
I stamped the image at an angle using Brilliance Pearlescent Lavender, Sky Blue & Jade.  Then I die cut a heart from the panel to show my sentiment.  Really love the mix of fonts!  I finished it off with white Nuvo drops & clear Wink of Stella on the stripes.

Here's the Blog Hop line up--lots of inspiration!  Be sure to leave comments all along the way to be entered to win the random drawing for the Daily Thoughts stamp set.

Thank You

Thank you all for your good wishes & concern.  I'm much better--just taking a long time to get rid of all the crud.  Hubby's hand may not blister after all--so far, so good!  There's never a shortage of inspiration to play along in the PTI CAWU challenge.  This month I kept going back to admire Melissa's wreath card on Day 2 of the release.  I really love her organic wreath & use of lace--2 of my favorite things.  Now I have Gathered Garden on my wishlist!
For my wreath I used stamps from Turning a New Leaf & Friendship Jar Flowers stamped in Spring Moss, Classic Kraft & Sweet Blush.  The die cuts from The Sweet Life were stamped in Spring Moss (double for the details), Sweet Blush (double for the second layer) & Melon Berry.  The sentiment from Friendship Jar Flowers was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa & I used it for splatters, too.  My neighbor just gave me some old sheet music & I used it instead of patterned paper--sponging the edges with DI.  I have a sack of lace & this is one of my favorites, but it's almost gone.  The left over piece of twisted hemp was on my table & just fit.  Instead of putting more flowers at the top of my wreath, I made a Melissa junk bow.  Finished off with pink Nuvo drops & this will soon be in the mail.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday & WAW.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
