Three More Cards

I've made an assortment of cards for challenges & with the end of the month in sight I decided to put 3 in one post.  I'll try to keep the descriptions short.
First up is my entry for Rudolph Days using a Penny Black die I loved the first time I saw it.
I'm so lucky a sweet friend gave it to me some time ago.  A die cut from a failed foiling attempt was on my table, so I covered the foil with red & green Stickles.  Hard to tell, but the sparkle is beautiful.  Fun to pull out one of my many Spellbinder dies--Resplendent Rectangles.  The largest die was cut & one of the smaller dies was embossed.  I used a sentiment from PB's in a pear tree stamp set from 2009--just what I needed--& used a single green gem for embellishment.  I'm also entering ABC Christmas Challenge, PBSC, Retro Rubber, SSS Wednesday & SSS National Craft Month.

Next is my entry for Poppystamps using some of the leftovers from my last card.  Oops--missed the deadline.
The Stitched Bloom Trio dies were cut from glossy photo paper that was blended with DO picked raspberry & a bit of abandoned coral.  I dry embossed the bottom of a kraft panel, added the little blooms & stamped the sentiment from Grateful Heart.
I used tiny brown pearls for embellishment.  Instead of foam tape, I added several panels of cardstock before adding the kraft panel to the card front which was blended with the same DO inks.  I'm also entering AAA Cards, Die Cut Divas, SSS Wednesday & SSS National Craft Month.
I'm a Diecut Diva Too
Last is my entry for PTI MIM Stenciled Edges.  I began by sponging Soft Stone ink onto a panel of Soft Stone cardstock through a Heidi Swapp stencil.
I stamped images from Friendly Flowers using Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist & Mint Julep.  The larger dot is from Wreath for All Seasons.  The sentiment from Friendly Flowers was stamped in Smokey Shadow & matching cardstock was used for the mat.
I used clear Nuvo Drops to embellish the flower centers & this card is ready to mail to a friend.  I'm also entering CASual Fridays, SSS Wednesday & SSS National Craft Month.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Wishing everyone a lovely Easter weekend.

Cropstop Guest Designer

Wishing everyone a lovely Good Friday & Happy Easter.  I'm delighted to be Guest Designing on the new Cropstop blog.  The Cropstop Store has products from lots of companies, including Poppystamps, Ranger & Tombow.
My note card began by sponging a scrap of glossy photo paper with Distress Oxide picked raspberry & a bit of abandoned coral.  Then I die cut Poppystamps Stitched Bloom Trio & layered the 3 blooms using glue dots near the centers.
I die cut a panel of SSS fog cardstock with Lil' Inker Stitched Rectangle & attached it to the card front.  The beautiful Poppystamps Massa Leaf Frame was die cut from heavy weight vellum & attached using Tombow vellum adhesive.
I attached the blossom to the frame & added some clear Nuvo Drops for embellishment.  I love the contrast between the soft gray, vellum & bright pink.  Always good to have a note card ready to send to a friend.  I'm entering HLS Anything Goes with Dies, MFT Sketch Challenge,  SSS Wednesday & SSS National Craft Month.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Precious Remembrance Shop~Spring Cheer

Time for another Create It Wednesday on the PRS Blog

It's Spring in my neck of the woods, so I pulled out a beautiful Darice embossing folder (thank you, Lisa!), pastel Zig markers (Light Pink, Bright Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Pale Green, Light Blue & English Lavender) & the cute Sketchy Alphabet PRS stamp set.
I set up the letters in my mini MISTI & held the top above my scrap of Bristol paper enough to make a little dab with each marker.  Then I colored each stripe by picking up the color from an acrylic block with a waterbrush.  When it dried I inked up the letters with  Delicata Silvery Shimmer & stamped them a couple times for the depth of color I wanted.  Little stickers are so handy for an element like the word cheer.  I attached the colored piece to the debossed side of the white panel using foam tape.  Decided a bit of sparkle was needed, so added Crystal Stickles to the center of each flower.
For once I set it far away from me to dry & managed not to mess it up--haha!  SSS Fog cardstock is a great neutral & I love the look of it as a mat for white.  Hope I've inspired you to make a happy card to surprise one of your friends.  Check out all the great products in the PRS Shop.  I'm entering SSS Wednesday.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Edited to add: Also entering SSS National Craft Month.

Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop Challenge

Hurrah--It's PTI Blog Hop Day & the photo inspiration is gorgeous for this month!  I used the twig basket & softly colored flowers as the basis for my card.  So fun not to worry about how thick it was  going to be, since I made it in time to hand deliver when I met my blogging friend, Vikki
The basket immediately made me think of the Twig Wreath, so that's what I used.  Hadn't used my felt in quite awhile & was reminded how much I love it for flowers.  Added a bit of yellow Stickles to the yellow felt centers.  I used the linen impression plate on the brown cardstock mat & tied on some matching ribbons for a Melissa junk bow.  The sentiment is Stampendous.  I'm also entering HLS Anything Goes with Dies, ModSquad, SSS Wednesday, SSS National Craft Month & Stamplorations.
Modsquad Challenge
PTI has started a new challenge this year--Transformation Tuesday.  I was really happy with the new version I made for the last challenge.  That gave me the courage to pick a card from 2016 that I really don't like.
Original Card
Took a few days of staring at it to come up with what I thought would help.  I started by die cutting the tree from Floral Frenzy, rather than stamping & heat embossing.  It was colored with a variety of Zigs--mixing colors.
New Version
Really like how it turned out, so then I focused on the background.  Decided to keep it soft, so used stencil brushes & Distress Inks peeled paint & faded jeans.  One thing I did like from the original card was the ribbon & trim that reminds me of landscaping fence, so I carefully pulled it off & reattached it to my new card.  The sentiment is from Through the Trees.  I touched the end of a wet brush, rather than spritzing, as I wanted more control of the splotches.  The panel was matted with classic kraft & PPP sequins finish it off.  To me, this card is more modern & pleasing, so I will actually send it.  I'm also entering SSS National Craft Month & WAW.  Thanks so much for stopping by & enjoy the hop!

Meeting a Friend

What a great week, as I got to meet a blogging friend.  Vikki & I were born 3 days apart in different states, but have both lived in Oregon for many years.
It felt like we'd been friends forever & we will definitely get together again.  We both love playing in the PTI challenges & sweet Vikki brought me a bunch of PTI tag die cuts--just what I needed for this week's MIM challenge.  I sent Vikki some embossing enamels--hopefully they arrive in time for her to use.
Found a new color combo I really love:  Royal Velvet, Winter Wisteria & Sweet Blush.  The butterfly & sentiment are from PTI Butterfly Hope, the mat is PTI Mat Stack 3 & the background is Cover Up: Diamonds.  Since I was finally using some Stampendous Embossing Enamel (shabby white), decided to also add it to the edges of the mat, using Versamark ink.  I used a Quickie Glue pen before pouring the enamel onto the tag for my splatters--worked great.  Some of the glitter also attached even without any adhesive or ink & I really love the look.
Finished off with white crochet thread wrapped & tied in a bow.  May end up putting an Easter greeting inside as I need another card to mail.  I'm playing just for fun at Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge using lavendar & layers and at Double D.  I'm entering HLS Anything Goes with Dies.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Edited to add: Also entering SSS National Craft Month.
