Hello

I have items for sale or give away.  Check the tabs under my header.  New items will be added, so check back often.

Having trouble getting blog posts written, so I've even used Instagram to enter a few challenges lately.  However, today I'm determined to blog my last minute entry for Winnie & Walter Rerun No 33Crystal's card inspired me to open the last W&W stamp set I got: A Tree for all Seasons.
I stamped the tree in Versafine Onyx Black & then used a wet brush with a rainbow of Distress Inks: candied apple, carved pumpkin, fossilized amber, lucky clover, blueprint sketch & wilted violet.  I've found the black Zig is best for black splatters & this time I used a bigger brush flicking it with my finger.  Much easier to get splatters the way I like them--at least this time--haha!  My favorite W&W hello die was cut from black fun foam & brushed with Wink of Stella.  Needed something, so with bated breath I inked the little bird & stamped it on the branch.  Couldn't believe I got it just right & it's amazing the difference it made in the overall look of the card.  I send lots of friendship cards, so this one will definitely get mailed.  I'm also entering Calling All Sistahs, HLS WatercolorSSS Wednesday, Stamplorations Theme & WAW.
I'm still trying to make use of our apples.  Sure takes a lot of work for not that much applesauce, but it's delicious.  Also need to make some of our favorite zucchini apple bread & maybe one more apple crisp.  First, though, I've gotta get hubby's anniversary card done--only a few days away.  I'll catch up with your blogs, too, as soon as I can.  Thank you for taking time to stop by & enjoy the holiday if you're in the US.

Thank You for the Gift

It's my day on the Precious Remembrance Shop Blog.  Hope you'll check out my fun little thank you card.
I used 2 PRS stamp sets called Thanks and Oh Christmas.  The "gift" is done with emboss resist using Distress Oxides festive berries and abandoned coral.  The die cut bow is Lil' Inker.  I think it'd be fun to use a variety of colors & images.  Just leave off the bow for an easy to mail version.
Be sure to keep in touch with PRS on Social Media: FacebookPinterestInstagram &YouTube.
I'm entering Stamplorations Theme & SSS Wednesday.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

PTI--not SAF

Before I consider doing any of the PTI SAF challenges, I finished cards for PTI MIM and PTI Transformation Tuesday.
Papertrey Ink Blog

First is MIM, Layering Patterns over Images.  I've stamped text & music over images, but I don't remember using a geometric stamp until now.  I actually made 2 cards.
My first thought was Turning a new Leaf, since the images are solid.  Then I decided to try Spruce & Sprigs since the holly leaves are larger.  I used Delicata Golden Glitz to layer the Cover Up: Diamonds on both cards, but stamped the first vertical & the second horizontal.
The sentiment for the leafy card is from Friendly Flowers & I used gold Pico Embellisher for the dots.  The sentiment for the Christmas card is from Snowflake Flurries & I added a bit of Stickles for some sparkle.  So fun to use some of my huge stash of ribbon again.

Next is my Transformation Tuesday entry.  I really love this card I made in 2016 for one of the PTI CAWU challenges.
Original Card from 2016
Decided to use the layout for a Christmas card this time.  I started by picking one of the papers from PTI Candy Cane Prints & used matching inks for the wreath.
New Version 2018
The dotted circle from Shape Shifters: Circle 3 was embossed to use as a guide, like Heather recently did.

The images are from Gathered Garden & the sentiment is from Splits: 'Tis The Season.  The silver glitter strip is Heidi Swapp tape & the silver dots are Stickles.  It'd be fun to make this wreath in a variety of colors for various occasions.  I'm also entering WAW.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Summer School Finish..Plus

Hurrah--I finished MFT Summer School & I'm getting my cards posted before the deadline this time!
Day 4 is Ombre
I used one of my first MFT stamp sets called Thankful Leaves.  To begin, I inked an acrylic block with Distress Inks abandoned coral, spiced marmalade & carved pumpkin, spritzed with water & "stamped" onto a white card front.  I used a wet brush to blend the inks & then "stamped" again with the inked acrylic block & less water for more texture.  I added some water drops, but could have done without that step.
Next I used the same inks to stamp the leaves & Delicata Golden Glitz for the veins. The sentiment from the same set was stamped in DI gathered twigs & the gold ink.  Finished off with gold sequins.

Day 5 is Rainbow
Oh boy did I have fun with one of my newest MFT dies called Block Happy Birthday!  So fun & easy to make a rainbow with Copic markers.  After die cutting the words I mounted the panel to a super sparkly glitter paper & used foam tape to mount it to a small black card.  Couldn't get a picture to show the sparkle, but it honestly doesn't need any embellishments.

Now for the plus in my post title--MFT Birthday Project, CAS Birthday
Had to use the rainbow letters before they got lost--haha!  I stacked them 3 high & added Stickles to the colored letters.  I just wasn't happy with quite so much white space, but I didn't want to add any embellishments.  Thankfully, the letters were spaced far enough from the bottom for me to add 3 scored lines above & below.  Really amazing the difference those lines make.  Surprisingly, I actually captured the sparkle from the Stickles in this close up.
Now to decide who to send this to!  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by.

Green for Summer School

MFT Summer School is back and so far I've finished 3 lessons.  A few days ago I smooshed a variety of green Distress Inks on watercolor cardstock & spritzed with a green shimmer mist.  I die cut MFT Spring Wreath wreath & discovered there wasn't room to cut a second one, as I'd planned.  Instead, I die cut the 2 little sprigs several times & began with a project using them.
Day 1 is Monochromatic
I die cut & stamped the tag from MFT Tag You're It.  The sentiment from the same set was stamped in green & Versamark so I could heat emboss it.  Then I arranged the little sprigs & added green Nuvo Drops, shimmer spray splatters & a green twine bow.  This will go to my sweet neighbors with some of my homemade applesauce.  I'm also entering SSS Monday.

Day 2 is Focal Point
I had such fun stitching another MFT tag on our last camping trip.  It was my first time to do something different for the background & I love the look of my white stitched lines.  May look black, but actually it's green, white & gold--a favorite Christmas color combo.  The green mat is textured cardstock & the white ribbon with the lines seemed a good match.  I added the PTI Tiny Tag for the sentiment as I really didn't want to cover up any of my tag--haha!  I think the gold mat & the raised tag makes the focal point stand out even with a solid background.  I'm also entering The Snippets Playground.

Day 3 is Visual Triangle
I used the wreath die cut from the smooshed panel along with white felt flowers (attached to cardstock) from MFT Prima Donna Petals.  I added tiny gems to the flower centers & arranged them for the visual triangle.  I dry embossed MFT In & Out Stitched Rounded Square die into Classic Kraft cardstock, stamped the sentiment from MFT Spring in brown ink & mounted it to a brown panel.  Love this twine & thought it was perfect for the look of this card.  Tried to leave the bow plain, but gave in & added the brown pearl.  I'm also entering Retro Rubber with die cut, green, leaves & the sentiment from my first MFT stamp set which I've had for probably 8-10 years.
RRCB 93
Two more lessons & I already have some ideas.  Gotta do chores first--yuk!  Thought I'd leave you with this cute picture of Fritz.
He managed to get the blanket in his bed over his back & head.  Then he walked slowly over to our chairs with this look on his face, as if to say--Momma, help!  So funny!  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Christmas, Birthday, Just a Note

In case you didn't notice, I have items for sale or give away.  Check the tabs under my header.  New items will be added, so check back often.

Clouds this morning, so we did a bit of yard work.  I need a break before tackling my abundant apples, so I'm sharing 3 cards.
First is the card I entered via Flickr at the very last minute for the Impression Obsession Christmas in July challenge.  Would you believe, Mr Random picked it?!
I love the IO evergreen dies & this time I cut the largest one from adhesive backed fun foam & added silver foil.  The background was made by blending DO lucky clover & faded jeans which I splattered with water.  The IO sentiment was stamped multiple times in faded jeans--thank goodness for a stamping platform!
Next up is my second BD card entered for SSS Flickr challenge 103.  Unfortunately, Mr Random didn't find it, but it's one I'll definitely be sending to someone.
I first sponged a white panel with DO faded jeans & broken china.  Then I layed down the SSS Heart Mandala stencil in the lower right corner & sponged on the same inks.  I spritzed heavily with Shimmer Spritz--so pretty in person!  SSS Painted Happy Birthday was stacked 2 high, brushed with Wink of Stella & covered in Nuvo Glaze.  Love using little alpha stickers & finished off with white Nuvo drops.  I'm entering CropStop, SSS Monday & WAW.

Dawn_McVey_Seasonal_Borders_Say_It_Simply_4Last is my entry for PTI CAWU.  There are several DT cards I plan to case.   However, for the challenge I chose Dawn's card which made me say "wow" as soon as I saw it!  It's not something I would likely have come up with on my own, but boy did I have fun making this card.  The new circle die (which I ordered) reminded me of the Cutaway Tags: Spring Die that hasn't gotten much use yet.  I used Dawn's colors of Ripe Avocado, Tropical Teal, Melon Berry, Saffron Spice & Classic Kraft.  I accidentally substituted Hawaiian Shores for the Aqua Mist & my stamping was done on Vintage Cream instead of Rustic Cream.
The stamp sets are Splits: Just a Note, Twig Wreath, Quilted Summer & Garden Gild.  I used a Verve die for the scalloped bottom & tied in the cream with little cream colored irridescent gems--so pretty.  Now I want to make another one using Aqua Mist!  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Thank You So Much

It's my day on the Precious Remembrance Shop Blog.  We're featuring a great stamp set this month called simply, Thanks.  The images are so versatile & fun.  For today I made a set of three cards--each with a different color scheme.
I used a PTI die for the note cards--2 white & 1 kraft.  The little branch images are from a Christmas set called Oh Christmas.  You can see close ups of each card on the blog.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Variety of Cards

Yesterday was a wonderful break from the heat, but summer isn't over yet.  I'm totally out of my routine these days--feels like I'll never catch up.  I have made some cards & finally I'm getting them posted.
First is another one commissioned by my neighbor.  She wanted something special to send to her sister who is turning 80 & she wanted "80" to be included.  I was struggling until I remembered seeing balloons used that way, so pulled out my Penny Black balloon dies.
For a color scheme I turned to one from Lexi Daly: Hawaiian Shores, Green Parakeet & Harvest Gold.  It's really beautiful in person, but I couldn't get a very accurate photo.  The cover plate is Lil' Inker (purchase enabled by the die cuts my friend, Cat, sent to me!) & the sentiment is SSS Painted Happy Birthday.  The sentiment & balloons were brushed with WOS.
I added Nuvo Glaze to the sentiment & glued down the floss with Distress Collage Medium.  The numbers are white glittery stickers which I colored with a teal COPIC.  My neighbor was pleased & hopefully her sister will be, too.  I entered 2 Flickr challenges: SSS & Love Handmade Cards.  I'm also entering Seize the Birthday & HLS Anything Goes with Dies.

Next is my entry for PTI MIM: Petite Pattern Play.  I loved Michelle's example using the Take 3 die & I remembered the tiny stamps included in Autumn Adornments.  I didn't think about the 3 images not being exactly the same size, so took me 3 attempts to get something that worked.
As you can see, in the end I cut each one out, so the squares are all the same size.  Next time I'll try using the same image in each opening of my mask & see if I can get a 1 layer card.  The stamping on Classic Kraft is done with Canyon Clay, Simply Chartreuse & Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate.  I gold embossed the sentiment from the same set.  The squares are matted with Dark Chocolate (as is the panel) & mounted with foam tape.  I added tiny brown splatters & decided against any embellishments.  I'm also entering WAW.

Last is a fun CAS card using Stamplorations Coffee for all Seasons.  I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.  Hoping it's OK to flip the sketch.
After heat embossing all 4 images, I masked around the summer square & blended with Distress Inks abandoned coral, carved pumpkin & fossilized amber.  Then I brushed on Wink of Stella--so pretty in person.
The sentiment is from the same set & is also heat embossed.  Thinking this will go to a friend with a Starbuck's card inside.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday, Stamplorations CAS, Stamplorations Anything Goes & Time Out.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
