MFT WCMD Challenges

I did it--got the 4 MFT WCMD challenges completed in time!  Now fingers crossed that Mr MFT Random will find me--great prizes!
#1: Rainbow
Used my Mini MISTI to stamp the cute bird & the separate wing from MFT Contempo Cage.  The Memento inks are Love Letter, Morocco, Dandelion, Cottage Ivy & Nautical Blue.  The sentiment is MFT High Rise Lower Case Alphabet.  The wavy edge is done with MFT Wavy Edge.  I'm also entering SSS WCMD.

I inked MFT Spring Wreath with DIs evergreen bough & iced spruce.  The white dots are done with an extra fine Sharpie.  Finally tried sponging a card front going from dark to light leaving the top white--really like the look.  The bow comes with the wreath & I sponged it with DI festive berries to match the card.  MFT High Rise Lower Case Alphabet dies were cut from cardstock & glitter paper.  Couldn't resist using some of my huge collection of gems, including the one on the bow.  Looks like a black dot in the center, but trust me, it's a clear gem.  I'm also entering Christmas Card Challenges, HLS Christmas, SSS Wednesday & SSS WCMD.

Finally opened the pack of Heidi Swapp stickers I bought ages ago.  Luckily, they included numbers & pieces I could use for a percent symbol.  They're meant to be colored with spray mists, so that's what I did.
Boy do I love the Delusions Vibrant Turquoise--gotta make more use of it.  The background is MFT Geometric Grid silver embossed & MFT In & Out Stitched Rounded Squares cut the panel & the card.  I silver embossed the Verve word die & placed it into the negative I'd cut from the panel.  Fun little card for a blogging friend.  I'm also entering SSS WCMD.

Hurrah--finally opened my MFT Desert Bouquet stamp set.  I stamped the greenery in DI bundled sage & the dots in weathered wood on linen cardstock.  The bundled sage was lightly sponged over the images & the Hero Arts 2003 sentiment was stamped in Versafine Vintage Sepia using my old fashioned stamp positioning tool.  The stitching is done with Lil' Inker stitched rectangle.  No bling as I prefer simple & understated for sympathy cards.  The envelope is addressed & I'll mail it tomorrow.  I'm also entering SSS WCMD & CropStop.  Thanks so much for taking time to get through this long post.  I'll be catching up on your blogs soon.

Birthday Cards

I haven't routinely played at Mojo Monday, but I really like the current sketch.  This is the last challenge, as Julee needs more time with her kids.  I was determined to make a card using my neglected Verve goodies & some printed paper.
Simple card that took me hours, but I'm so happy with the end result. The papers are MME Flair collection, the flowers are Verve New Beginnings & the sentiment is Verve Simply Amazing.
I added silver foil to the top layer of the die cut word & red Stickles to the Aqua Mist & Pale Peony flower centers.  I cut 2 strips of gray textured cardstock to tie in with the Brilliance Starlite Black I used to stamp the sentiment.  The center panel is stacked with a couple layers of cardstock--not quite as high as adding foam.  I'm also entering SSS Monday & Word Art Wednesday

There are always so many options for the PTI CAWU challenges during release week, but it was an easy decision to case Nichole's Day 2 card with the blended background behind the die cut panel.  I love this release, but have got to use what I bought in my last order & that includes the wonderful striped die in Mix & Mat Flourishes.
Don't laugh too hard--gotta tell you what I did.  Last night I carefully masked the front of a white card so my blending wouldn't go clear to the edge.  This morning when I sat down to put the die cut panel on top, I realized the order of the inks (Hibiscus Burst, Terracotta Tile, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise) was upside down from what I had wanted.  I could have just cut off the front of the card & attached it the right way to another card, but oh no--then I started thinking & debating about other changes!  Finally, I did get the card put together & actually I like my final version better with adding the Summer Sunrise mat & Glitter Dust for a beautiful, soft sparkle.
The wooden embellishments are Studio Calico--fun for a change instead of sequins or gems.  I'm also entering Seize the BirthdaySSS Monday & Word Art Wednesday.  Thanks so much for taking time to visit my blog.

Hop to Stop & Another Christmas Card

I finally got to Becca's Blog to check in on this year's Hop to Stop Domestic Violence.  She wrote a beautiful post & made a stunning project.  The link-up is about to close so after dinner I got out my 3 purple Tattered Angels mists & colored a panel of watercolor paper.  I stamped 2 images from Stamplorations Distressed Floral Swirls in Brilliance lavender & 3 Stamplorations Trendy Butterflies in Memento Grape Jelly. The sentiment from Verve Simply Amazing is white embossed, trimmed into a flag & mounted with foam tape. Finished off with a sprinkling of sequins.
I'm also entering Inkspirational, SSS Wednesday, Stamplorations Theme & Sketch (sketch) & Stamplorations Anything Goes.

Today was another Scramble at the Hero Arts Flickr Group & I had such fun making my card.  The stamps are all Hero Arts & I used Distress Inks for the watercolored panel.  I just realized this fits for the Always Use Rubber challenge.
Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Looking Like Fall!

Yesterday was probably the last day to walk Fritz wearing shorts & sandals, but that's OK with me.  I snapped a few pictures of changing leaves & giant pumpkins on our street.
I have 3 cards for challenges about to end.  First is my entry for Winnie & Walter Re-Run #14.  I did finally spend my gift certificate, so goodies will be here soon. Shay's card with blue leaves inspired me--so unexpected.
I did kind of the opposite using a Verve blossom on green patterned paper. My embossing powder is Zing Leaf & I sponged the centers with Distress Ink bundled sage.  The same ink was used to stamp the tiny flower, also from Verve Simply Amazing.  My favorite W&W Hello die was cut from the same patterned paper, clear embossed & mounted with a black shadow.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday & CropStop.

Next is my entry for the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, SSS Monday & SSS Work it Wednesday using Stampendous Shared Coffee embossed in detail copper powder.
Then I smooshed the panel with Distress Inks scattered straw, wild honey, ripe persimmon & fired brick. Scattered Straw Stickles was added to the steam & "F" & finished off with Dew Drops.  I used a Tim Holtz stencil with Distress Ink gathered twigs on the kraft card.

Last, but not least is my card for the Altenew September Inspiration Challenge.  I won the last Papercrafts monthly prize before they closed. Included was the Altenew Simple Shapes stamp set.  The last time I tried to use it everything ended up in the trash.
This time I was able to make a fun card using Memento Dandelion & Love Letter along with Hero Arts Soft Pool. Have to admit, I did stamp 4 samples on scratch paper before settling on this arrangement of the colors.  The Mini MISTI made it possible to get a good inking.  I used a sentiment from my new set, Painted Greetings.

Finished off with PPP Marshmallow sequins & spritzed with Perfect Pearls. I'm also going to add my card to the Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop & Word Art Wednesday. Happy to have cards ready to mail to some blogging friends. Thanks for making it through this long post.  I love reading your comments.

No Words Unspoken

I wanted to play along at Mojo Monday using the pretty colors at ColourQ.  To start I tore micropore tape to divide a watercolor panel in 3 sections.
I combined Distress Inks fired brick & ripe persimmon to make coral & smooshed onto the center panel. Then I combined fired brick & worn lipstick for the pink panels.  I added some water drops & sprayed with Perfect Pearls mist.  Spellbinders Curved Rectangles was cut from heavy weight vellum.  I stamped in white & used clear embossing powder for the stems & leaves from Verve New Beginnings.  The leaves were die cut from green & glued on top.  The little flowers from the same set were stamped in Memento Nautical Blue, die cut & covered in WOS.  I mounted them with foam tape & added pearls & a floss bow.  The sentiment from Verve Dream Big was stamped in Nautical Blue & the panel was mounted to navy blue cardstock. As I told my Hospice patients, none of us know how long we have. "Leave no words unspoken" is pretty good advice. I'm also entering SSS Wednesday.  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by.
