Altenew September Challenge

Once again, I have a last minute entry for the Altenew Challenge.
Took me awhile to come up with an idea, but finally I remembered the Vintage Lace embossing folder with coloring stencils.  I watched the layering guide video & it's very helpful.  The color combo in the inspiration photo is really beautiful & I found these inks matched it pretty well:  Altenew Coral Berry & Frayed Leaf, PTI Pale Peony.
The sentiment from Floral Frame was silver embossed & die cut with Altenew Nesting Ovals.  I also embossed the oval edges & added a couple cardstock layers for dimension.
The tiny flower has Silver Stickles in the center & I used silver metallic cardstock for the mat.  I'm also entering SSS Monday and SSS Wednesday
My heart goes out to everyone dealing with the hurricane. Hard to imagine so much devastation in a few hours.

Pinkfresh Studio, Stencils & Turnabouts

I have a few cards to show you today, starting with my entry for PFS Monthly Challenge.  I used the theme of stripes & gradients with all PFS dies.
The Color Block Stripes pieces were brushed with Distress Oxides candied apple, abandoned coral & saltwater taffy.  Probably this combo has been done before, but I just ended up with it looking for inks I have that could make a gradient.  Now I want to use them on a blended background!  Delicate Wreath die cut was double embossed in WOW White Twinkle ep which gives an incredible sparkle!
I tried a variety of combos for the sentiment from Classic Holiday Words & ended up liking the white shadow with silver metallic words.  The matching embellishment dots were made by inking up scraps in the 3 DOs, clear embossing them & then diecutting with the berries die from Layered Wreath.  I have a bunch more dots ready to use, so I plan to use them as berries on some wreaths.
Next is my entry for TTTC180 using the diagonal row of Stencil, Sentiment, Berries.  I love Gina K's Stellar Snowflake stencil & wanted to try using it with blue & purple Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists.
I call it an artsy look, but to some people it's probably messy--haha!  Anyway, I like it, so cut down the panel & splattered with Distress Stain Tarnished Pewter.  I love the shimmer from the Mists & Stain.
The frame is PTI Pierced Feature Frames Rectangle & the silver embossed berry branches are from PTI Spruce & Sprigs.  I used old circle dies for the sentiment from GKD Festive Flowers.  Luckily I had the right shade of purple cardstock in my stash for the purple mats.  Tried various embellishments & really liked the Spellbinders silver dots.  I'm also entering SSS Monday & Rudolph Days.

Recently I made cards with a couple of my CN9 Turnabout stamp sets & posted them on IG.  Love how they turned out, so thought you might like to see them.  First is the Wreath Turnabout stamped in PTI Scarlet Jewel, Sweet Blush, Honey Nut & Simply Chartreuse.  I restamped each turn until I had the color intensity I wanted.
I'm loving this color combo, even thought it isn't a traditional one for Fall.  I brushed the card front to match.  The stacked sentiment is from Spellbinders October 2020 Small Die Kit.  I covered the word in shimmer & added tiny pearls.
Stacking & adhering the delicate word was a cinch using SSS Micro Dot Adhesive sheet.  I'm always going to have that on hand!
The other card went to my sister who has a big birthday tomorrow!  I wasn't sure an ombre pallette would work for Turnabouts, but I just love it!
I picked the color because I happen to have an Altenew set of 4 teal ink cubes.   I stamped the separate branch from the set using the 3 lightest shades & stamped Winnie & Walter's "birthday" in the darkest.
The W&W Happy diecut was double embossed in WOW Embossing White Twinkle ep.  I added shimmer to the branches & embellished the card with clear dots.  Think my sister is going to like this one.

Note Cards and Christmas Cards

I have 4 cards to show you today & I'm starting with the last card I made.  The Stamp Market recently had a sale & I finally got a die set off my wishlist called Mini Autumn Leaves.  A watercolor panel I used to soak up leftover yellow Glimmer Mist was sitting on my table.  I pulled out more Glimmer Mists in a variety of greens, gold & purple plus Hero Arts brown metallic liquid watercolor.  Some of them I spritzed & some I used for smooshing.  In the end, I totally covered up the yellow, but I did get a beautifully shimmery panel for Fall leaves.
I used gold glitter tape for the veins.  Years ago a friend sent me a Christmas card with a sweet angel image diecut with a banner die turned upside down.  Her die set was discontinued, but I bought Frantic Stamper's Arched Labels.  They are slightly different & I think I only used a die once.  Recently arched dies seem to be very popular & many companies have them.  I pulled out my set & decided it is just fine.  The 2 largest dies were cut from PTI Rustic Cream & the edges were brushed with Fine Linen ink.  I stamped a leaf from PRS Fall Colors stamp set using my MISTI so I could double stamp with Fine Linen.  I stamped the PFS Sweet Friend Floral sentiment in Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate & splattered Gansai Tambi gold watercolor.
The leaves were glued in place & I used deep gold gems for embellishment.  The brown card front was also stamped with a leaf from PRS Fall Colors using Versamark ink.  Lots of beautiful shimmer & sparkle in person.  I'm entering Double D, Snippets Playground & SSS Monday.
Next is my entry for Poppystamps September challenge.  Recently a longtime cardmaking friend sent me a pack of printed paper.  I seldom use my printed paper, but wanted to make a card for her using it.  I used Poppystamps Small Curve Background & Lattice Small Curve Border along with a couple circle dies & Memory Box Posh Script Just a Note.
Fun to pull out an old piece of green variegated trim.  The sentiment is covered in Shimmer Pico Embellisher & I added dots of Stardust Stickles to the flowers.
My friend has a lot going on in her life, so hopefully this card will brighten her day.
Gina K's cards often inspire me & soon after watching her video, I made this card.  I love using the Wreath Builder Template, but don't think I've ever cut the wreath in half.
I used images from 2 older sets I got from someone purging:  GKD Winter Hugs & SSS Peaceful Christmas.  The sentiment is an old one from Hero Arts I still use every year.  The inks are PTI Ripe Avocado, Prairie Grass & Ocean Tides.  I colored in the leaves with New Sprout Memento Marker.  The gap is covered with PTI Ripe Avocado cardstock & Ocean Tides printed paper a friend gave me.  The sentiment & vellum mat were die cut with Altenew Nesting Ovals.
I used Ocean Tides cardstock to mat the panel, added shimmer to the leaves & attached 2 tiny light green gems for embellishment.  Really love how this turned out.
Here's a simple CAS, graphic Christmas card that took me 1/2 a day to complete!  The images are from SSS Peaceful Christmas & the inks are PTI New Leaf & Versafine Satin Red.

I added a couple cardstock panels for just a bit of dimension which makes a big difference in person.  Decided it just needed 1 green pearl for embellishments.  I'm entering CAS on Friday.

Reminder for Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge

I'm back with another GD card for CCCC where the theme is Candy or Cookie.  Check out the blog for all the details about the challenge along with inspiration from the DT & GDT.  The Winnie & Walter Peppermint Zone die was the first thing that came to my mind when I learned the challenge theme.  However, I didn't see it in my stash & used old printed paper for my first GD card.  Decided to look again & sure enough, there it was!  I must have just gone through the box of my W&W products too quickly.
I die cut from red and white cardstock leaving all the pieces attached in the red panel.  Then I glued just the inside pieces from the white panel over the red ones for a fun look with just a bit of dimension.  Pigment Craft Company Cup of Happy die was cut from green glitter foam & embellished with images from an old Hero Arts kit.  You might think it'll be hard to drink your coffee, tea or cocoa from this cup, but all you need is a straw--haha!  Oops--should have thought about that when I was making my card!
The inks are VersaMagic Red Magic & Brilliance Gamma Green.  The PFS Classic Holiday Words sentiment was die cut from vellum for the shadow & silver metallic cardstock for the word.  Finished off with silver gems from my stash.  Thanks to CCCC for having me design with them this month.  I hope I've inspired you to join in this fun Christmas challenge.

Rainbow & Pumpkin

You may have seen the rainbow I made with Altenew oval dies HERE.  It was such fun, I made another one for the August CCC.  This time I colored the sections with Copics to match the color palette option of Kumquat, Lime & Grape.
I'd never have come up with these colors if they hadn't been suggested, but really like them together for a rainbow.  I embossed them with a sparkle powder--so pretty!  The background was made with Honey Bee Radiant Circle stencil, light molding paste & extra fine glitter.
I stamped the sentiment from PTI Prominent Petals & added some black Pico Embellisher dots.  I'm entering SSS Wednesday & WAW.

I haven't done much stitching lately, but my friend Rosemary has been inspiring me.  I had just enough time to make another shaped card for August DCD & entered via Flickr.  Fall is about here, so I thought of felt & pumpkins!
I used Memory Box Plush Pumpkin die, felt in my stash & craft cord.  Quick, easy stitching, so I got instant gratification--haha!  Beacon 3-in-1 craft glue works great for felt!  The sentiment is from PTI Tiny Tags.  I also entered SSS Wednesday.

Guest Designing for Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge

I'm so honored to have been one of the winners for Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge #7 with my Trinity Stamps teacup card.  That gave me the chance to be a GD for the September CCCC where the theme is candy or cookie.
Check out the blog for challenge rules & inspiration from the DT & GDs.  I have to be honest--candy & cookie products are few & far between in my stash.   However, I did find 3 pieces of Christmas printed paper with candy canes--yah!   I picked the one with small images since I wanted to use it for the sweet little Penny Black Love Cup die set.
I attached the printed paper diecuts to white ones & inked the red lid strips & coffee sleeves with VeraMagic Red Magic ink pad.  The sleeves needed something, so I dry embossed them with a dotted folder.  The background was made by spreading light molding paste through Tim Holtz Bubble Stencil.  Before it dried, I poured on Distress Glitter Clear Rock Candy.   Just love the effect it gives & the glitter doesn't rub off when it's dried.
Poppystamps Merry Christmas Poe Script was stacked 3 high.  The top layer was inked in VersaMagic Red Magic & the 2 white layers were positioned as a slight shadow.    I added some liquid glue not being too precise & poured on the same glitter.  Just love the frosty look that matches the background.  Hope I've inspired you to join in this fun challenge!
Edited to add: Also entering WAW.
