Time Out Challenge #266

We have a great photo to inspire your creations for Time Out Challenge #266 which is sponsored by Lawn Fawn.  I've always enjoyed seeing the lighthouses along our state's coastline.  However, I only have one lighthouse product for cardmaking and almost didn't have that!  I gave Memory Box 2017 Oceanside Lighthouse and Waves die set to a friend several years ago.  Luckily, I made some diecuts for myself first and I've finally used some of them.

I seldom attempt to make scenes and thought keeping it small would be less intimidating.  Plus, I really like windows on cards and wanted to use MFT Peek-a-Boo die which I've neglected.  I used Distress Oxides pumice stone, broken china, faded jeans, speckled egg, abandoned coral, picked raspberry and a tiny bit of fossilized amber for the background.  I added Nuvo Crystal Glaze over the yellow Copic for the windows and the detail wave is covered with Frosted Lace Stickles. 

PTI Scripted's little companion sentiments are some of my most used.  No embellishments, as this is for a male relative's summer birthday.

Autumn Leaves

Happy Veteran's Day!  I'm so grateful for all the men & women who have & are serving our country in the military.  
Once a year I pull out my very old Kaleidacolor Autumn Leaves ink pad that works just like it did the day I bought it over 15 years ago!  Usually I brayer it onto glossy paper, but decided to try stamping the gorgeous Impression Obsession Collage Leaf 5 which I've had since 2013. 

It's such a solid stamp that it worked beautifully.  The vanilla cardstock was too much contrast to me & fortunately I remembered my Copper Shimmer Spritz in the back of a drawer. 

It's really gorgeous in person & totally changed the look of the card.  The IO Come Ye Thankful sentiment (also in my stash 4 years) had been stamped in Versafine Vintage Sepia, so no problem with the spray.  A variety of sequins provide embellishment & the panel was attached to a kraft card.  I'm entering Impression Obsession Falling Leaves, Allsorts, Double D, Retro Rubber & Word Art Wednesday.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Staying CAS

Fun to make a one layer card for the Love challenge at Where Creativity Meets C9.  The Love You, Mean It set has such sweet little images, including the 2 sizes of hearts I used here, as well as the sentiment.  

The inks are Brilliance Pearlescent Coral (totally pink even though the name is coral), Rocket Red & Graphite Black.  I added tiny splatters & 3 pink sequins. It did take me 2 tries to get the hearts stamped how I wanted--simple isn't necessarily easy--haha!  I'm also entering Allsorts, CAS-ual Fridays & Inkspirational.

Next is my card for the PTI 2007 Challenge.  I don't own any of the featured sets, but I was drawn to Maile's card that also used Watercolor Wonder--a set I do have.  

I used her basic layout stamping my background in Spring Moss & Limeade Ice. The Harvest Berries die cuts were stamped in Berry Sorbet & brushed with Wink of Stella.  

I really love the sentiments in Lovely Leaves & this one is just what I need for a thank you card.  I stamped it in Honey Nut on a scrap of Classic Kraft--same cardstock I used for the card front.  The panel is die cut with AJVD Polka Dot Backdrop Rectangle & I finished off with PPP clear dots. I'm also entering HLS Anything Goes with Dies.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
