Rainbow & Pumpkin

You may have seen the rainbow I made with Altenew oval dies HERE.  It was such fun, I made another one for the August CCC.  This time I colored the sections with Copics to match the color palette option of Kumquat, Lime & Grape.
I'd never have come up with these colors if they hadn't been suggested, but really like them together for a rainbow.  I embossed them with a sparkle powder--so pretty!  The background was made with Honey Bee Radiant Circle stencil, light molding paste & extra fine glitter.
I stamped the sentiment from PTI Prominent Petals & added some black Pico Embellisher dots.  I'm entering SSS Wednesday & WAW.

I haven't done much stitching lately, but my friend Rosemary has been inspiring me.  I had just enough time to make another shaped card for August DCD & entered via Flickr.  Fall is about here, so I thought of felt & pumpkins!
I used Memory Box Plush Pumpkin die, felt in my stash & craft cord.  Quick, easy stitching, so I got instant gratification--haha!  Beacon 3-in-1 craft glue works great for felt!  The sentiment is from PTI Tiny Tags.  I also entered SSS Wednesday.

CAS card and Stitched card

As soon as I saw FMS 512, I thought of SSS Trees and Trunks die set.  Don't ask how long it took for me to make this super CAS card--haha!
I first die cut the larger tree in the set from a scrap of pretty soft green glitter paper & it just didn't look right.  Finally I die cut the smaller tree & that worked!  The trunk was cut from a scrap of shimmery brown paper & the strips are from a scrap of my favorite textured pink cardstock.
VersaMagic Gingerbread was a great match to the trunk, so that's what I used to stamp the Altenew sentiment.  I'm also entering The Snippets Playground & Christmas Kickstart.
Before I found cardmaking, I liked to do counted cross stitch.  Now I have a few stitching dies to use for cards.  My latest purchase, with a gc, was Spellbinders Circular Stitch Background die.  So fun to have the design cut by the die, so no pattern to worry about.  I also bought the needles & metallic threads sold on the Spellbinders website & love them all.  The shimmer of the threads is gorgeous!  I was inspired by Color Hues challenge to use gold & silver.
Probably not really needed, but I wanted to try the white thread, too, so used it for the little circles.  Luckily, I recently discovered the set of dies I hadn't opened that were included in the Spellbinders 2019 card kit Christmas Wishes.  The poinsettia is beautiful & just the right size for this card.  The word die is an old favorite from W&W which I heat embossed with gold & silver powder & a layer of clear ep.  It was too dull for what I wanted, so I covered the gold areas with Stickles Golden Rod & the silver areas with Stickles Silver.  Now I love it!
The gem in the flower center was also in the card kit & I put a bit of the 2 Stickles on it so it matches.  Can't wait to stitch some other colors!  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday.

BIG Pumpkin!

A year ago this month I was at a crafty friends retreat in Indiana.  So glad we didn't put it off a year.  You never know what the future is going to bring.  We did some shopping at the stamp stores in Nashville, Indiana.  One of the gals pointed out the sale box where I found a couple large Memory Box dies for $5.  I didn't get around to using them last year, but today I made a card with Plush Pumpkin.
Fun to pull out my floss & do a little stitching.  I've had this beautiful plaid paper for years.  Luckily there was enough left to cut the PTI frame along with the leaf & sentiment strip from the reverse side.  The pumpkin was sponged with DO Spiced Marmalade to give a bit of variation to the look.  I stamped the PRS frame & sentiment in Versafine Clair Acorn & finished off with brown sequins.  I'm entering Outside the Box, ModSquad & TTT (Die Cut, Fall Sentiment, Designer Paper).

Flower Cards

So glad to have my laptop back after routine maintenance.  I have 3 cards to share--each different but all with a flower.
To start, here's my PTI MIM entry with a stitched stem, felt bloom & die cut leaves.  I had so much fun making this card!
The Tag Along Holiday die cut is one Vikki gave me when we met in person.  The bloom die cuts are Corner Adorner: February, the leaves are Fancy Foliage Details, the sentiment is from Trendy Tree Tops & the background stamp is from BG Basics: Text Style.  I used New Leaf Cardstock & lightly brushed blue ink on the tag before adding the bloom with a very old button brad.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday.
Edited to add: Also entering Inspired by All the Little Things thanks to Darnell's suggestion.
Papertrey Ink Blog
Next is a card using Poppystamps Stitched Blooms that were left over from This Card.  I used Spellbinders Squares & Lacy Squares to make the black frame.
Fun to use twine for the stem & the sweet die cut leaves (thank you, Ros!)  A W&W border stamp made the black & white edge on the card front & I mounted the panel with thin fun foam.  I'm entering Poppystamps, Double D & SSS Wednesday.
04-18 copy
I've been wanting to try Rose Gold with navy, so that's the basis of my last card.  I embossed a scrap of cardstock with SSS Rose Gold embossing powder & die cut the Memory Box Arianna Sprig solid piece from it.
The outline was die cut from a navy scrap & luckily I had enough to also die cut a mat using AJVD Polka Dot Rectangle Backdrop.  The sentiment from Poppystamps Grateful Heart was embossed with the Rose Gold powder--just love it, especially on the off-white cardstock.  The look of the embossing changes as you tilt it in the light.
I've always loved pearls & still have tons, which fortunately includes the navy ones I used here.  I'm entering Memory Box & Word Art Wednesday.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

PTI & SSS

We Love Dawn
PTI Designer, Dawn McVey, is recovering from a small intestine transplant.  There's a special blog hop, We Love Dawn, to offer support & send her some joy.  It's suggested to use one of Dawn's sets & I thought that was a great idea.  I love Spruce & Sprigs, but decided to use Friendly Flowers for my get well card.
The panel die cut with Mix & Mat Flourishes was on my table & I stitched it with red embroidery thread.  The blooms were cut from white felt & the leaves from dark brown felt.  I loved making French Knots when I did cross stitch many years ago.  So fun to make them for my flower centers!  Tiny Tags stamp & die was used for the sentiment with Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink.  The panel was mounted with fun foam to a card covered in dark brown cardstock.  Very simple, but hopefully Dawn will like it.  I'm entering Word Art Wednesday.

My friend, Betty, gave me several C&9th Watercolor cards a long time ago.  Finally got the courage to use one & die cut it with SSS Birch Tree Window.
I sprayed it heavily with gold Perfect Pearls & mounted it to a kraft card.  SSS Painted Thanks was die cut from kraft, stacked 3 high & clear embossed.  Finished off with sequins & love how it turned out.  I'm entering SSS Flickr #83 & Die Cut Divas.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
