New Embossing Paste

I just got Lawn Fawn gold embossing paste at a local store, so made a last minute entry for PFS August Challenge Beautiful Backgrounds & SSS Wednesday Challenge Shimmer & Shine.  I'm also entering SSS Monday Make Your Own Background.
I spread the paste through an unlabeled stencil.  Gotta say, it was very easy to use & dried quickly.  Then I picked out some of the PFS Washi diecuts my friend Vikki shared with us at the June retreat.  I added a bit of gold Stickles to the flower centers & added thin foam tape under the top blooms.
Decided to mute the background with a vellum PFS Braided Tag diecut to help the flowers stand out.  Vikki also gave us PFS foiled sentiment strips & I attached this one with thin foam tape.  Now to decide who to send it to!

Pink, Green, Silver Christmas

We all brought stencils to our little retreat in June.  I borrowed SSS Winter Floral Layering set & used my Distress Oxides in pinks & greens.  These stencils are on my wishlist!
As soon as I saw FMS 550, I thought of the panel still waiting to be made into a card.  Luckily, I happened to have a sheet of pink paper that matched.  The W&W Noel die is one of my favorites & I double embossed it in my old JudiKins Diamond Sparkle ep.
The Stamp Market has inspired me to do multiple colored layers for word die cuts.  Here I just used pink & white under the silver one.  Didn't want embellishments to detract, so opted for some old tiny silver glittery dots in my stash.  I'm also entering SSS Flickr & Rudolph Days.

Altenew, Memory Box, Pinkfresh Studio

Wow--August is almost over!  Decided I better get my challenge cards posted.  First up is the card I made using Virginia's color combo for the Altenew Inspiration Challenge.  I didn't get around to using Leafy Border die last month, so was determined to pull it out this time.
I got close to the colors using Distress Oxide vintage photo, CN9 Grapefruit & MFT Peach Bellini.  The blended panel is spritzed with gold shimmer spray--so pretty in person.  I stacked a couple border diecuts for a bit of dimension.  The sentiment is from Painted Greetings & I splattered all 3 inks.  Thought the old wooden dots in my stash were the perfect embellishment.
The Memory Box Challenge for August is to make a yellow card.  I have to admit, yellow is not a color I reach for very often.  However, I do have beautiful yellow Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists.  I used them to turn a panel of watercolor paper yellow & embossed it with one of my favorite embossing folders: MB Blooming 3D.
I added DO fossilized amber on the flower centers & the edges.  I carefully swiped just a bit of black ink around the entire panel & added black splatters.  The butterfly is made with MB Moonlight & Kaleidoscope dies.  The solid butterfly & antenna were die cut from black cardstock.  The detail butterfly was die cut from a scrap painted with the light yellow mist.  I glued the inside pieces to the base & discarded the outline.  MB Hello Friend Posh Script is one of my favorite dies & here I stacked a couple diecuts on the vellum shadow & added Nuvo Glaze.  Decided 3 yellow gems on the butterfly body was all the embellishment it needed.
Beautiful Backgrounds is the Pinkfresh Studio Monthly Challenge theme & I immediately knew I wanted to use the beautiful Lush Vines stamp.  You can never go wrong with gold embossing an image, so that's what I did.
I was in the mood for a neutral color palette & used antique linen & milled lavender Distress markers along with Desert Sand Memento marker.  The panel was cut into 4 sections to fit on the Classic Kraft card front.  The sentiment from Modern Layered Florals & the Dainty Blossoms diecuts were also gold embossed.
There's a vellum circle behind the hemp tied diecuts & I used brown gems for embellishment.  I've used the sketch for the September CCC & I made sure the card arrived early so I could post it now.

Christmas Cards

I had fun pulling out 2 green Altenew watercolor markers to brush onto the beautiful, old IO holly stamp.  I spritzed with water & stamped, repeating until I was happy.
The silver berries were done with a GKD Holiday Tapestry stamp, Delicata Silvery Shimmer & Silver Stickles.  Really love the font of this HA sentiment from Christmas Rose.
I still remember the first time I saw an embossed, stamped panel.  It totally changes the look.  Here I used SSS Refracted folder, but this is the debossed side.  Yes, it was an oops, but turns out I like it!  I entered challenges from Flickr.
Dawn of WP9 makes the most beautiful cards!  I cased her Christmas card in February for a friendship card.
This time I made a Christmas card using Altenew watercolor markers like I did in the first card.  The pine branch is from a very old Stampendous set that I don't think I'd ever used.  The leafy branch is from PB's xmas sprig set.
I used the same GKD berry stamp & added Christmas Red Stickles.  Love this Uniko sentiment from Season of Beauty.  I seldom use my cream colored cardstock, but glad I used it here.  Made a huge difference to sponge the edges with DO vintage photo which I also used to stamp the sentiment.
I added a couple cardstock layers to give the sentiment dimension without needing extra postage.  It's interesting how different styles & designs appeal to all of us.  This one I can't get out of my mind & will be using again, for sure!  I'm entering SSS Wednesday.

Friendship Cards

Color Hues is remembering their teammate, Lindsey, who lost her battle with ovarian cancer.  I didn't know her, but I know the sorrow of loosing loved ones to cancer.  Here's the card I made to join in honoring Lindsey using her chosen colors of Blue & Purple for a CAS card.
I recently got the Altenew Nesting Ovals in a sale with the idea of making a rainbow which I saw someone do months ago.  I added glitter to my old blue & purple ep.  The middle arch is embossed in Hero Arts Sparkle ep after covering it in white pigment ink.  The sparkle is so pretty in person.
I die cut & embossed light gray cardstock with a Spellbinders square die.  The GKD sentiment was stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist.
Poppystamps August challenge is to let the sentiment take center stage.  I decided to do that with a white on white background & a colored sentiment.
I started by using Memory Box Texture Distressed Grid stencil with light molding paste not totally covering the stencil. Really love the look! Then I attached Poppystamps Flower Field Corner diecuts in opposite corners. I trimmed the large bloom from 2 more diecuts so I could add it on top for dimension. Poppystamps Luscious Script Hello is one of my favorite dies. I cut a couple shadows & a couple words from white cardstock scraps. The word was embossed in WOW BEE Kind & Spring Breeze powders--beautiful sparkle in person!
I used a Quickie Glue Pen to add the same powders to the blooms.  The secondary sentiment is Tim Holtz stickers on cardstock mounted with foam tape.  I added tiny gems to tie in the black.
My final card is for JUGS Butterfly challenge.  I had several leftover diecuts I didn't want to store or throw away & now I have one of my favorite cards ready to send to a friend!
The PFS gold embossed Small Butterflies were stenciled in Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers & Peach Fuzz.  The background is made with Poppystamps Lattice Small Curve Border 2 high covered in Poppystamps Flower Field Corner diecuts--2 complete ones plus pieces left from the last card.
Everything was attached to a beautiful Bazzill textured pink panel which I splattered with gold & white metallic watercolors. Love the font of the Mama Elephant sentiment which I stacked 3 high. I'm also entering SSS Monday.

Guest Designing for Tic Tac Toe Challenge 173

I'm honored to be Guest Designing for TTTC #173.  Here's the fun board with lots of great options.
My card uses the top horizontal line of Stencil, Frame It, Sparkle.  I recently got a few bottles of WOW Embossing powder & boy do they sparkle!  To start, I inked an unlabeled stencil with Versamark & then randomly added 3 different powders, one at a time, & used my heat gun.  The colors are BEE True, Persian Indigo & Vintage Peacock.  I wanted to see what would happen if I added transluscent Spring Breeze powder over the top.  It definitely muted the colors, but was still really pretty & sparkly.  I decided the best thing to do was to use the panel for diecutting.  The stencil design made me think of balloons, so I used an old Winnie & Walter die.  The little bow in the set was heat embossed in Persian Indigo.
I die cut a PTI Pierced Feature Frame Rectangle from white cardstock twice to give it a bit of dimension.  Then I figured out where to place the balloon on the Soft Stone panel so that it would be in the corner of the frame.  The sentiment from a very old INKADINKADO set was stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist.
The sparkle & shine as you tilt the card in the light is really beautiful!  Even the little bow sparkles.  Hope I've inspired you to pick a line and play along.  I'm entering SSS Monday & SSS Wednesday.
