Flying back into Portland was absolutely breathtaking with all the reds & yellows. Here's a shot in our neighborhood, but it really doesn't do justice to the gorgeous colors this year.
Amazing the difference a week made. I started this card for SSS Flickr #82 right before we left. I used DIs abandoned coral, scattered straw & shabby shutters to match our neighbor's tree. Now it's practically all yellow. SSS Scattered Leaves remains one of the best prizes I've ever won--just love it! I splattered the leaves with gold watercolor & used what was left to paint a scrap of cardstock for the SSS die cut sentiment. I'm also entering DRU & The Snippets Playground.
I really had fun making my PTI MIM Matting with Glitter card. Yes, loose glitter is messy, but I still love it & pulled out a very old jar from a company no longer in business. I painted the edges of my PTI Don't Forget to Write die cut card with FlitterGlu. Then I poured on the Foxfire glitter--so pretty & sparkly with a combo of black, green & bronze. Just couldn't capture it in a photo.
I used my Mini MISTI to line up all the stamps from PTI Take Three: Fall. The pumpkins were stamped in Canyon Clay multiple times & the sentiment in Brilliance Graphite Black. I added little black nail heads from my stash. The panel is mounted to a slightly larger textured black square & then to the card with fun foam. I stamped several more panels while everything was lined up. I'll show you that design soon. I'm also entering SSS Monday, SSS Wednesday, Stamping Sensations & Words 2 Craft By. I'm still catching up with everyone--thanks for your patience.
Beautiful cards! Wonderful designs! Love the coloring on the leaves on the first card! So pretty!

ReplyDeleteHugs~
two stunning cards Greta. Love the photos too
ReplyDeletePretty cards and it's good to see the Take Three Fall set being used again! I have it and I'm pretty sure I put it in my pile to sell... Not much leaf color on the East due to lack of rain this summer and it's been such a warm October - more like Spring than Fall!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful autumn designs and also your pictures are great to see :) We didn't have as much colour here as normal due to a dry hot fall. I hope you are doing well, xx
ReplyDeleteI wish you had come to IN. We have beautiful colors and they are here right now. Your leaf card picked up those colors perfectly. I love the pumpkin card too. The glitter on it is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteTwo yummy fall cards, Greta! Especially love the branch with the mix of colors!!
ReplyDeleteLovely post, Greta. Enjoy all that spectacular color in your neighborhood. Love your leaves. And I came cuz those pumpkins caught my eye in their monochromatic glory!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos and post Greta! Looks like you guys had a great time! Such pretty cards! Love the pretty leaves and fun pumpkins!

Enjoyed reading your blog post. Our glorious colours here in Scotland are so beautiful too....yellows, reds and coppers. Love the first card, the leaves are amazing and you've captured the essence of Autumn beautifully x The second card is so contemporary and that glitter is so pretty. I am not a fan of dry glitter but have used it recently too in challenges and that's why I love challenges..... Messy and fun! x
ReplyDeleteThis is beautifully colored! Love all the color variations you have on these leaves! Thanks for joining our "Leaves" challenge at Dies R Us!

Fabulous cards Greta. I particularly love your leaf card. The gold speckles and die cut sentiment are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteYes it has been warmer than usual here in the east and the leaves aren't changing as quickly. out back yard is still mostly green with a bit of yellow and red. Came back home and promptly got hub's cold.
both cards are absolutely amazing, greta!! love the beautiful shading on the first one... you captured fall leaves perfectly!! and the glitter frame on the second one is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove the impact of those Autumn leaves on the Kraft. Beautiful inking and flicks of gold. Your second card looks lovely too with the off set pumpkins and shimmer of glitter around the edges.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving those colorful leaves on the first card, and in spite of my not caring much for glitter, the framed card looks amazing! Well done on both!
ReplyDeleteLove your leaves card, such beautiful Autumnal colours that show up so well on the background, love the Autumn die too. Your "glitter" card is wonderful, love the combination of colours, I'm a loose glitter girl most of the time too, LOL it certainly shows off the central images beautifully.

Don't know where you were in the East but I can tell you that foliage here has never peaked this late in the season. I feel bad for the tourists who planned their trip at the regular foliage time. I'm sure it has something to do with the very mild weather we had in September and October. Now the colors are beautiful...
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of beautiful - that's what your cards are! Love how you dyed the scattered leaves on the first one and the sparkly frame on your second card!
What a beautiful autumn card! I love your colors.

What a fun post, Greta! Thank you for sharing the photos! We have good color around here, too, this year, but I'm sure not as colorful as further north. Your snippets card is right up my alley - simple, but so colorful and impactful and I love your beautiful glittery PTI make, too!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteGreta, I have heard that New England also is beautiful in the fall, but I think you are right, we have gorgeous color right here in our neck of the woods. Awesome cards you made...the SSS scattered leaf card is stunning with all the perfect colors blended in and of course LOVE your fall pumpkin card with that awesome glitter! Have a great weekend! Heart Hugs, Colleen
ReplyDeleteI can imagine you'd use that leaf die many times. It's just perfect here in the autumn colours.
ReplyDeleteHi Greta! How nice to see one of your creations in the W2CB Gallery... and even nicer to see that lovely vacation pic! I'm so happy to read that you're getting to travel. Thanks for joining us at Words 2 Craft By. We always love it when you have a chance to drop by.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos Greta! Happy you had a safe trip. I'll bet Fritz was happy to see you! Both of your cards are pretty. Love the colors on your first and the sparkle on the second!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous as always, the autumn colours are just perfect.
ReplyDeleteI love your photos, it's been very mild here we even had the windows open this week which is rare this time of year, I think autumn is running late this year :)
Wonderful photos and your leaf card is spectacular... Really captures the season! That's a wonderful stamp on your second card and beautifull done!
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards...messy or not, the glitter looks terrific on your card. Cheers.
ReplyDeletebeautiful fall card Greta and how did we manage without these wonderful stamping platforms,, thank you for sharing with us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, enjoy your weekend...hugs kath xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Greta, your beautiful fall leaf card leapt off the page at me when I popped in for a visit at the playground, love that die and such gorgeous colours, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Greta...love the Foxfire glitter one especially!! And the color in your next of the woods pictures is BEAUTIFUL!! Michigan usually has wonderful color in the Fall, but our weather was so HOT and DRY up until a week ago that the colors just didn't do their thing this year...bummer!
ReplyDeleteBoth are fantastic! Love the sparkle on the black!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful inspiration, Greta and your neighborhood photos too! The Foxfire glitter is cool~
ReplyDeleteThe leaves...the pumpkins...two of my favourite fall images that you've showcased beautifully! Your photos are fantastic and yes, the autumn colours are simply gorgeous! We were treated to a 'longer' fall but the snow came last week (about 8 inches) and I think it's here to stay. We're at -14C today...brrrrr!
