Years ago I found the pumpkin, jack-o-lantern face & sentiment stamps by Memory Box at my favorite paper store--no longer in business. Gotta admit, I did have fun using them with the polka dot paper from an old SSS prize pack. The inks are PTI Orange Zest, Memento Marker Bamboo Leaves & Brilliance Graphite Black. I used Score Tape on the edges of the panel to attach black glitter & the face is covered with Crystal Laquer.
After trimming the sentiment strip into a flag I gently bent the ends with my fingers & added glue just to the center. I'm entering Memory Box, SSS Wednesday & CropStop.
Oops--missed the MB deadline.
I find myself drawn to stripes, so really enjoyed this week's post for What Would Kelly Make on the SSS blog. To celebrate the one year anniversary, we can link a card inspired by any of the posts. Easy decision for me to use post #12.
Thought you might enjoy another Fall picture.
This one is our street & shows the brilliant colors a little better. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
two great cards,Greta - love the background you made for your leaf background - really pretty with the black leaf!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little pumpkin card! Love the extra pop the black glitter adds! Thanks for linking this up to Cropstop....it's always a pleasure to see your work appear in the gallery!
ReplyDeleteI love the polka dots with the jack-o-lantern, Greta! And the black open leaf is gorgeous on your striped background!
ReplyDeleteOh is that little jack-o-lantern surrounded in a sea of polka dots ever cute! Your Thanksgiving card is marvelous. And how pretty are the colorful leaves on your street, love them! They cut down the pretty trees in the tree lawns of our street a couple of years ago. They were Ash trees and had some kind of bug that moved the city to cut down every city owned Ash tree. I sure miss how pretty our street look in the fall :(
ReplyDeleteTwo super cards, Greta. Cute little pumpkin face on the first card and I love how you've created the background for the leaf on the second card. Great Autumn photo too. xx

ReplyDeleteHalloween is not a big thing here either, but your vibrant pumpkin card is super cute. Love the Autumn tones of your stripes and the stacked maple leaf. You are clever to get all those layers to line up so well. Your avenue of trees is beautiful. We are enjoying our spring flowers here with Roses in full bloom.
ReplyDeleteSuch fun cards Greta! Love the little jack o lantern and the pretty stripes! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteNot into Halloween either but I always love the traditional colours and your Autumnal creation is so effective.

ReplyDeleteYour cards are really lovely. We don't do Halloween much here in NZ either. I really love the leaf card too
ReplyDeleteCute Halloween card with that black glitter frame. Love your stripes and the colors you used. Thanks for sharing your trees. I took pictures for you last Thursday when I was out and will get them sent to you. I felt bad you came east and didn't have great colors so I'm sending you midwest colors.
ReplyDeleteEven with three grandsons I didn't make a Halloween card this year but yours sure is cute! Using your WW for stripes is fantastic and adds texture with its rough edges. The black leaf is a perfect embellishment. It looks like the rain begins again tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteTwo fun cards! Love that black glitter and polka paper and the stripes behind the black leaf are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteYour polka dotted Halloween card is so cute and I adore the metallic stripes and the leaf die cut on the second card!
ReplyDeleteBoth the cards are so cute Greta...I totally love these..Thank you so much for joining us at Happy Little Stampers - Anything goes with dies Challenge. Hugs xx Deepti Aggarwal
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan either but I always have lots of sweets for the callers ... I have no idea where they come from because we hardly ever see children around our road but on Halloween there are loads of them. One told me he didn't like anything I was offering and one asked why he couldn't take as much as he wanted ... Neither were more than 5 years old! Some were just so rude! Anyway your cards are beautiful I especially love the second card ... Enjoy your day my friend!
ReplyDeleteGreat colours on your pumpkin card. I don't normally do Halloween either. We used to get kids come calling but not for the last couple of years so the sweetie stash never goes down . Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteI must confess that Halloween is not a big thing here in the Netherlands. So your second card happens to be my favorite :) I love the design; that striped background is fab!
ReplyDeleteCute Halloween card and lovely fall card!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blackboard style card. I am thinking of making about a dozen of these as they were fairly quick to make and overseas mailing deadlines will seen be upon us.
Gorgeous autumnal colours. I love the cute pumpkin and the stripes.
ReplyDeletesuch a cute jack-o-lantern and i love the black glitter! i'm slowly warming up to loose glitter, it's just so messy. :) i also love the fall card - so pretty in those colours.
ReplyDeleteYour shimmery pumpkin in the glittery frame is spooktacular! Your stripes are a perfect canvas for the pretty maple leaf, which has my Canadian heart smiling!
