Usually I'm pretty positive, but lately it's hard not to feel sad with all the disasters & strife in the world. Cardmaking is a great escape & I do love sending cards to my family & friends.
So nice that Winnie & Walter are giving people plenty of time to enter their WCMD challenges. I have 3 more entries today.
1. CAS with Heather H
I love Fall leaves, but decided to make Fall roses using W&W Bed of Roses. I began by embossing with Moonstone powder & then sponged on DIs wild honey, fossilized amber & twisted citron. I sprinkled with water, blotted with a towel & spritzed with gold Perfect Pearls. The panel is mounted with fun foam to a kraft card with embossed dots of the same powder using a Quickie Glue pen. I'm also entering CAS on Friday, CropStop, Stamplorations CAS Challenge, SSS WCMD & Word Art Wednesday.
Once again a stamp positioning tool to the rescue! So fun making my rainbow panel using an image from W&W Scenery: Stripes 2. The inks are Memento & the panel is mounted with a thin strip of black at the top & bottom. My first plan was to stamp a little sentiment on the white card front, but ended up using my favorite W&W Hello die--much better idea! The top layer is embossed with sparkle powder & I mounted it over a silver thread nest. Finished off with PPP sparkling clear sequins. I'm also entering SSS WCMD & Word Art Wednesday.
I've had this DI smooshed panel on my table for quite awhile, so decided to use it for the challenge. Should have done a practice run with the stamping, but too late--haha! The white embossed images are from W&W In Bloom: Addie's Garden. Decided to eliminate part of the area I wasn't happy with by die cutting the hello from the panel. The little pieces were put back in place on the dark gray & I added 3 little paper roses from my huge stash. I'm also entering SSS WCMD & Word Art Wednesday.
These are all wonderful Greta! I like your elegant sunny roses on the first. Terrific graphic design on the second and gorgeous background on the third! I agree, our world is in such a sad place. It just puts a knot in my stomach seeing and reading the news every single day.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful cards! I do love your fall roses, rainbow hello, and beautiful smooshed panel card! So happy you linked up to Cropstop - do join us again and help us reach the goal of 100 links this month!
ReplyDeletethree fantastic cards - but absolutely love love the third one - such a great design and smooshed background!
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy making beautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteI know where you are coming from, but know that your projects always bring a smile to my face :) they are all gorgeous and i LOVE the rainbow one. Sending hugs x
ReplyDeleteI love the gold and brown, it is lovely. Bright and happy rainbow but oh that last one! It is my fav and I love everything about it. The color is just gorgeous and the embossed white flowers and leaves are beautiful. Great save to cut the sentiment to get rid of what you didn't like. I know what you mean about the state of the US. So many terrible events going on and I feel so helpless watching the news. The fires are just the lastest devastation and it is so very sad and heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteAwesome cards, Greta...you were quite busy during the World Card Making Day...Your smooshing card is fantastic, love the color! Have a super weekend! We are going down to OSU today (hope the rains let up) to take our grandson out to lunch...he is a freshman and we want to catch up on how he is liking school and living in a dorm! Heart Hugs, Colleen

ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards and in a world where so many terrible things happen it's wonderful to see the beauty you and others share. Like you and can just get lost in creating and forget that beyond my 4 walls there's a sadness everywhere... Sending hugs your way

ReplyDeleteYou are so talented, Greta. I love seeing your wonderful creativity, and I thank you for taking time to link up with us. Always know that God is sovereign and is ultimately ALWAYS in control. Our faith doesn't stand in the wisdom (or lack thereof) of men, but in the power of God.
