I always try to play along in the PTI MIM challenges. This week Dawn's challenge is sentiment windows. I had a wreath card in mind, but then I saw the left over orangish die cut on my table & decided to use it by cutting out the center to make a frame.
I stamped the sentiment from PTI Meadow Greens on the front of a kraft card in Versafine Vintage Sepia. Then I realized the sentiment needs to be on the inside of the card, duh! Fortunately, I just flipped it & then cut out the window. The ferns were stamped in white pigment ink & I splattered white paint. My friend, Lisa, gave me some darling wooden flowers. I inked one with a bit of DI vintage photo & added a pearl to the center. I'm also entering SSS WCMD & Word Art Wednesday.
Next is my entry for Ellen Hutson Mix It Up with Altenew. I die cut the EH Leaping Deer from kraft cardstock & stacked it 3 high.
The top layer was stamped with Hero Arts Tiny Snowflake Grid (thank you, Arlene) in DI vintage photo--allowing it to be uneven. The green frame is made with Spellbinders Labels 18. The sentiment from Altenew Painted Greetings was stamped in DI vintage photo & trimmed into a flag. No bling as this will be hubby's BD card in a couple months. I'm also entering SSS WCMD, Word Art Wednesday & ABNH. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Τwo beautiful cards, Greta. I love them both! You did well with the orange frame in the first one. And the deer die cut is so lovely. Kisses, my friend.
ReplyDeleteOh good save with the sentiment window challenge - I love that stamp - the words and the fonts - simply perfect. I also love the mottle look you achieved with the stamping on the deer. It's always a good feeling to be ahead with the Birthday cards.
ReplyDeleteVery effective use of the negatives from die cutting Greta, stylish designs as well.

Really elegant and such a warm colour combo!
ReplyDeletejust taking a few minutes break to check up on my favourite blogs and you are one Greta! What delightful cards. Great save on your first one. It really is lovely and your deer one is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are gorgeous! I love the way you have used the Meadow Greens on the first card. It's really stunning.
ReplyDeleteThese are both wonderful fall cards. I really am in love with the orange frame. Talk about smacking myself in the head, that's what I'm doing this morning. It never occurred to me to make a frame by cutting the center out of a square or rectangle. That is genius because you can use any size and make the frame as large or small as you want. Duh!
ReplyDeleteBoth are so lovely, the texture on the second card is WOW. And on the first card I love the effect from where you have stamped the fern leafs on the frame too, it really works so well.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a great weekend :) sending hugs xxx
Two wonderful cards Greta. I really like the color combo on the first one, so Fall looking!
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty, Greta! Love all the colors and textures, and so clever to frame your sentiment!
ReplyDeleteGreat MIM card Greta...love the simplicity of it and really like that little wooden flower too! :0)
ReplyDeleteLovely cards, Greta.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the colour combinatoric of the first card. The white pigment ink and the splats look fabulous. How kind of Lisa to send the wonderful wood embellishments x Again loving the colours of the second card...you are so good at this and the layering looks great x

ReplyDeleteGreta, More fabulous cards. Your frames as such a wonderful touch to make those such stand-out cards.
ReplyDeleteThese are sensational, Greta! I really love everything about the first design! And your manly second card is perfect for hubby's upcoming birthday!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely cards!! The embossed ferns are so pretty! Wonderful deer card, too!
ReplyDeleteI did laugh at your ingenious "mistake" to get the sentiment inside your card. Love the reindeer card, I'm sure hubby will too.

ReplyDeleteBoth cards are gorgeous but the second card with that deer is my favorite. Ain't a surprise I guess:)
Aww shucks, your beautiful PTI MIM card reminded me I didn't play along this week! I had every intention, just ran out of time. Your card is just beautiful Greta! I think it might just be my new fave from you!! Your second card with the leaping deer is terrific. But the first one with the lovely white ferns is swoon worthy!!
ReplyDeleteSorry about being late with my comment, but I was away for a few days to look at colleges with my oldest.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love your orange frame paired with the white ferns on kraft! Totally swoon-worthy! And the second card features another frame - I really adore that look! What a cool and fabulous card!
Absolutely stunning, Greta. You are so talented, and I feel so blessed and grateful that you take time to share your wonderful art with us. May God bless you and your family always. Hugs!
