Warm Summer Colors

The Impression Obsession challenge is Hello Summer & they want to see warm color projects. Don't you love that stampers can use any images with any colors? Using warm colors came naturally today with our temp reaching 94 degrees!  Too hot for Fritz & me--oops--I broke my promise not to complain after being in the East Coast humidity last week--haha!
I couldn't resist the beautiful IO stamp called Nest Collage when we used it in a class about 4 years ago.  To give it a summer feel I began by heat embossing with Detail Copper powder & then sponging on Distress Inks squeezed lemonade, scattered straw & wild honey.  I brushed on Perfect Pearls for a nice sheen.  The edges of the image panel & the dry embossed mat were also copper embossed.  If hubby doesn't want to use it for a thank you card, I'll write a note to a blogging friend. I'm also entering Penny Black & More, Retro Rubber, SSS Monday & SSS Wednesday. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

  9. Another great card, Greta! You definitely captured the warmth using these colors along with copper emboss powder. Yes, the East Coast humidity is a struggle... but it does keep me in my nice cool craft room. Thanks for including Retro Rubber in your stamping fun this week. :)

  10. I love the copper embossing powder and the DI colors look so great with it. Do you have the humidity with the heat? That's what makes it so unbearable when it's so hot here.

  13. This is stunning. So inky and lovely.

Not sure how far away from Langley you are, but next year I will try to remember to forward you the email of the one time each year that the two stores have their garage sale on the same day. There are about 50 vendors with several tables each...always fabulous offerings...and your US money goes farther than mine!

We have a guest suite in our walkout basement so could put you up for the weekend...
