The Christmas card began by stamping Stampendous Manger Scene (minus the star) in VersaMagic Aegean Blue & clear embossed. Then I brushed on Distress Inks & splattered with water. The sentiment from AJVD was stamped in Versafine Clair Acorn & clear embossed. Then I die cut the scene with the manger in the center of the CAS-ual Fridays star die. The star was attached to fun foam before it was glued back in place. I finished it off with a scored frame & added Stickles to the halo.
I've always sent a lot of friendship cards, so that's what I made for my second card. I pulled out an old paper pack with large & small dots.
The same CAS-ual Fridays star die was used with the large dotted papers & the smallest star in the set was used with the small dotted papers. The small stars were attached to fun foam, covered with Stickles & glued to the big star centers. I black embossed an old HA sentiment to the black panel before gluing on the stars.
I also made a card for the November PFS Monthly challenge. I love the Delicate Wreath stamp set & had fun inking it up with Distress Inks in 2 shades of purple & 2 shades of blue. The stamp was in my Mini MISTI so I could add some ink, spritz & stamp multiple times until I was happy. The sentiment from the same set was stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne. I added purple, blue & gold splatters.
Ribbon used to be on most of my cards, but now I seldom use it because of the added postage cost. Worth it sometimes & this beautiful gold ribbon was just what the card needed. Finished off with dots of Champagne Stickles on the wreath & a thin black mat. I'm also entering WAW.
Three delightful cards Greta. Love the two different uses of the star. The Christmas one is really awesome.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and a great idea. Love especially the card with the native scene!!
ReplyDeleteThe star cards are great, Greta. I love the popped up image on the star and the polka dot cards are the cutest. I wish ribbon would make a come back as I have so much. Maybe you will be a trendsetter.
ReplyDeleteWow, Greta. Three gorgeous cards, but the native scene is FABULOUS! Hugs, my friend, and I am sure all the recipients of your cards will love them.
ReplyDeleteAll three of your designs are fantastic, Greta! I love your manger card and the beautifully blended inks even without the star, but WOW, with the cut out star positioned in the perfect spot and then popped up on foam, you have really gone next level! Love the stickles on the halo, too! And your dotty starry friend card is so fun and a great way to use some of our piles of pp! I love the little stars in little dots popped on foam in the center of the big stars with big dots! You did an excellent job of thinking up your designs and executing them. Love the beribboned wreath card, too! Thank you so much for playing in TCC #33! Keep safe and well! Hugs, Darnell

ReplyDeleteYour twofer challenge is a triumph Greta. The same shape and two totally different results. I absolutely love the nativity scene with the central star adding a touch of magic. By contrast the friendship card is fun and bright with the tiny stars in the centre. Now on to the wreath card - Oh my! I'd love to sit at your desk when you create these subtle colour changes by stamping, misting and restamping. Glorious result. Thanks for sharing your talent with the rest of us. A little ray of sunshine in a Covid world.

Greta, your Christmas card is so very beautiful and has that peaceful Christmas feeling. How clever to die cut your star in the center of your Nativity scene. It really showcases the baby Jesus as the true focal point. It's wonderfully serene. Your thinking of you had me from the get-go, too. Those polka dot stars, big and little are adorable! Someone will smile for sure when this appears in their mailbox! Thank you for joining us at The Twofer Challenge! Stay safe. Bev
