41st Anniversary

Yesterday we celebrated 41 years of marriage & boy do we know how to celebrate!  Started our day by getting flu shots--haha!  Hubby got me a gorgeous card & he seemed to like the one I made for him.
I used MFT dies for the flags & letters and 2 very old wood mounted heart stamps for the white embossed background which is hard to see in the photo.
I entered TTT 079 from IG using the bottom row of heat embossing, banners, twine.

I posted this card on IG in July made with Distress Oxides for the Joseph's Coat of Many Colors technique.  The stamp set is HA Speckled Elements & the sentiment is from HA Friends are Treasures.
I had so much fun making it, I used the same stamps with the CCC August color combo for the card I sent to Tina in Slovenia.  This time I used DO peacock feathers, frayed burlap & ripe persimmon.
I wasn't sure how that would look, but I really like the result.  In case you're not familiar with the technique:  Blend inks onto your panel, clear emboss images after panel is dry, cover panel with black ink, wipe ink off the embossed images.
I've really been drawn to cards with leaves of many colors which seem to be on every site lately.  Here's my version using ITP Bold Blooms & PTI inks.
Took a little trial & error on scratch paper to come up with the colors: Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse, Harvest Gold, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal & Amethyst Allure.  I actually stamped a vertical row on the left edge & it was too narrow.  So, I stamped a second row using the same images & colors in the same order, but with the images going the opposite direction.  Really love how it turned out.
The sentiment was stamped in Cocoa Bean & I added gold splatters using Distress Stain Tarnished Brass.  I'm entering Melissa's Fab Friday: Thankful challenge, Just Us Girls, SSS Wednesday & Time Out.

Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.  If your blog address is in your profile or comment, I will visit you.

  8. That is a cool card for hubby and very masculine. I love your Joseph's Coat cards. I just made one the other day I haven't quite finished with a greeting so you have inspired me to get it done. Beautiful colors you chose for the leaves and the design is very pretty. Great way to celebrate your anniversary since it's not wise to go out for dinner, why not get a flu shot. That's the best thing ever and Happy Anniversary.

  10. Happy Anniversary! Hubs and I had a date yesterday too...farmers market and the car wash! Lol.
Your card is a perfect masculine card. I can see how you link the many colors technique. Gorgeous cards. In school did you ever color a piece of paper with all sorts of crayons, the cover the whole thing in black crayon. To finish it we used dead ball point pens and traced words or images. The black would come up and leave thecolorful part showing. Love your leaves too. Hugs.
