I do have some cards to share, starting with my entry for the MFT Super Star challenge in the CAS category. I entered via IG, not knowing when I'd get a blog post done. I'd been wanting to make a felt poinsettia card, so figured I may as well enter. There's nothing clever or unique about my card, so no chance of winning. That's OK--it's my kind of card!
I used MFT Wild Cherry & Jellybean Green felt with the old MFT poinsettia dies. The center is a white, glittery sticker & the sentiment is from MFT Trim the Tree--a retired set. I did score a frame which really adds to the look, I think.
Twofer Card Challenge: Trees caught my eye as I love trees & have a lot of tree images in my stash. However, a lot of them are pretty large & I thought that would make it harder to come up with 2 different designs. Then I spotted the 2009 Penny Black stamp called Splendor--just what I needed. I began with a sympathy card for hubby to send to the family of a relative. I used an old fashioned stamp positioner so I could use markers & stamp as many times as I needed.
The grass was done with a wet brush & DI. I blended just a bit of blue at the top & stamped the sentiment from HA Color Layering Fuchsia. The vanilla card front was dry embossed with an old Cuttlebug folder. I added a strip of Classic Kraft & mounted the tree panel with fun foam.
Next I made a Fall Friendship card by stamping the tree 3 times & embossing with an old, copper powder.
Then I brushed on 2 green DIs & 2 blue DIs. I used the darker of each shade to add splatters & stamped the Verve sentiment. I used fun foam to mount the panel to a brown, textured card front after using a stitched rectangle die.
Thanks so much for taking time to stop by. If your blog address is in your profile or comment, I will visit you.
Hi Greta
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards .....
Hope you are well ....
Hugs Sylvie xx
So glad you got rain! Fritz must have been delighted!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Greta.. Love the soft and sweet poinsettia and the tree cards are both wonderful.
We take having clean air for granted and I'm so glad you got relief from the smoke. It is so dry here there are cracks in the ground and Daisy rolls around in the dry grass to scratch her back every time she goes out. Your poinsettia is gorgeous with it's embossing on the petals and leaves. The twofer is great and that tree is a good choice. Oh dear, I was so happy with my first post on the new blogger. I haven't tried to add anything else.
ReplyDeleteJust love your felt poinsettia and your fabulous twofer, Greta!! So glad you got some nice rain and things are better for you!!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you have ad some rain, sounds like it was desperately needed. I love all your cards on this post. Your felt poinsettia is just gorgeous and those twofer trees are perfect xx
ReplyDeleteYour Poinsettia card may be very simple, but as a CAS lover it looks absolutely perfect to me Greta!! And your twofer cards are both beautiful...love the tree image you used and how lovely it is on both your sympathy card and embossed in the copper on your hello card! Thanks so much for sharing with us at The Twofer Challenge Greta and so glad to hear you got some much needed rain too! :0)
ReplyDeleteFabulous selection of designs Greta. The poinsettia is just beautiful. Never thought I would wish for rain here but glad it finally happened.

The felt poinsettia is so pretty, Greta! Love how you used the stamp on the cards for the challenge. Trees are so perfect for sympathy cards.
ReplyDeleteLove your felt poinsettia card Greta, the subtle scoring frames the flower beautifully. Lovely pair of cards for the Twofer challenge too.
ReplyDeleteGlad you've had some rain at last to give some relief from the problems you are experiencing in your part of the world. xx
Your cards are beautiful and I am glad you got the much needed rain.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that rain was good for you, Greta. I did not know about the fires in your place. I am glad you are OK. Your poinsettia card is beautiful but I love your cards using this great tree stamp. Take care of yourself, my friend.
ReplyDeleteYou say there is nothing clever or unique about your Christmas card Greta, but I love the texture achieved with the felt and the scored frame which adds a crisp finishing touch. My kind of card too! Your tree image is perfect for the twofer challenge. Two very different looks by changing up the background. Well done. Lovely to read about the soaking rain to help control the fires. Our state has been fortunate in the past day, receiving 100mls in the far North which has been in drought conditions for several years. We are so grateful.
ReplyDeleteYay for the rain! I'll bet Fritz was happy to get outside too! You know I enjoy it when you use felt and this poinsettia is super sweet. Your tree cards are so pretty. I like the simplicity of the sympathy card and the soft background you've given the row of trees. Hope your weather continues to improve, stay safe!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear that you got some welcomed rain, Greta! How awesome to get back outside with Fritz and enjoy better air! Your felt Poinsettia card is so pretty! Beautiful tree cards, too! Wonderful embossing. They are perfect cards for any occasion! Take care and have a great week, hugs!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Greta! I haven't tried adding a challenge badge to a post but would just doing a copy and paste perhaps work? Your post looks perfect mind you!

So glad you got some relief from the smoke and that Fritz got to get some fresh air. Your felt poinsettia is fab. The colors just jump. The scoring is a great touch to all that fab texture. You picked a beautiful tree for your twofers. The sympathy card is lovely and your tree trio is lovely as well. Thank you for playing along with Twofer Card Challenge #31.
ReplyDeleteI love the felt poinsettia in felt! The scoring really enhances the simplicity of the blooms. Your tree designs are great choices for the challenge. I need to get busy with that one. So grateful for our cooler weather and clear air again.

I'm glad that you got some much needed rain, Greta, and you were able to go outside with Fritz! Your felt poinsettia is so tactile and perfect for a classic Christmas card and I love what you chose for your Twofer prompt! What a sweet round little tree! I would love a border of trees like that. I'll bet it's even prettier in person with that copper e/p and your schplattered painting of the sky and grass. And your sympathy card is so moving and so very comforting. Love the offset panel and embossed background. Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #31! Keep well! Hugs, Darnell
