Christmas & Birthday

Hope everyone is doing well.  Hubby & Fritz both finally got haircuts.  We're so grateful to be in an uncrowded area where many people are wearing masks as recommended.  I'll get my haircut in a couple weeks.  The good thing is my hairdresser works alone in a shop at her house.  She's older than me, so hopefully is being super cautious.  Thought you might enjoy seeing Fritz before & after.
I do love the furball look, but he gets matted, baths take longer & he gets too hot with the warm weather.  Not to mention--he could barely see!
On to my cards.  I've made quite a few, but I'm having a terrible time getting decent pictures.  Gotta post these before challenges end.  I'm slowly cleaning my craft table which still had the other PPP tree die cut which is from the same smooshed piece as THIS CARD.  It looks very different because I didn't blend additional ink on these pieces.
The ends of the branches were colored with a white gel pen before I added Stickles Frosted Lace--another reason it looks so different from the first tree.  I waited several months to get the PTI Tin Stitch die & couldn't wait to use it.  It only stitches--no cutting.  The very old HA sentiment was stamped in Memento Cottage Green.  I really like the fresh look with the white card base & the contrast of the green.  I'm entering Rudolph Days.
Edited to add: Also entering SSS Wednesday.

When Stamplorations released their first Bloomtangled dies, I couldn't wait to get one.  Their Spring Fling challenge made me get it out & use it again--something I need to do more often.
I began by ink blending DO candied apple, abandoned coral, spiced marmalade & fossilized amber.  Then I covered the panel with Gina K Glitter Glitz gel & let it dry overnight.
I used spray adhesive to attach the white die cut & attached the HA vellum sentiment strip before adding it to the card base.  In addition to the gorgeous shimmer, the gel also softens the colors.  Maybe I'll make another one without the gel.  Then the colors would look more like summer than spring.  I'm also entering Seize the Birthday.
Edited to add:  Also meant to enter Stamplorations Never Ending Anything Goes.

Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.  If your blog address is in your profile or comment, I will visit you.

  3. Fritz is adorable. Love the card designs Greta. Many years ago I had two Scotty dogs that I used to groom, thank god they couldn't talk and tell me how bad they looked.

  4. Your Rudolph entry card is lovely. I love that background die. It is amazing as is your inked up tree.

The second card is also amazing and lovely. That is a fabulous die.

It just occurred to me that you said this was the first time for both these dies. That means you used NBUS and qualify for Darnell's NBUS Challenge which is open till the end of the month.

Thanks for taking part in the May Rudolph Days Challenge.

  6. Aw, Fritz is a doll and he looks so much happier and cooler! Funny that we both posted before and afters of the furballs today! I so know what you mean about the matting! Your cards are really special today, Greta! I love that dimensional Christmas tree design and the fabulous schparkle on your cover plate design! It's amazing that you can get glitter paper by just spraying like that! That way you can have the wonderful blended color for the background. Glad you are keeping well. I'm jealous you are getting a hair cut soon; I hate the thought of cutting my own again for the third month. :( Hugs, Darnell

  8. Wonderful set of cards! Love all the pretty sparkle on the second one. Yep... Fritz looks pretty cute as a fur-ball, but I'm glad you were finally able to get him a trim! You are so lucky... still can't get a haircut where I live! :(

  9. Marvelous cards Greta, love the bloomtangled die to bits! Fritz looks adorable both ways. We always loved Max when he got a little fluffy, but like Fritz (and having black fur) he got way too hot in the summer.

  10. Two great cards, Greta! Just love the tin stitch behind your tree on card one and the yummy shimmer on card two!! Darling before/after photos of Fritz too! But hey - where are the ones of hubs?? LOL. I took before/after photos of my dad I won't share - he insisted I cut his hair (not good - I'm no stylist!). Anyway - lucky you to have a stylist in her home; I have to go to a salon (reopening 6/1).

  15. Ah dear Fritz - he's so sweet with our without the furry look. Ours used to hate having theirs trimmed, but it was so necessary, especially over Summer. I adore the Christmas tree with so much detail on the boughs. The shimmer and sparkle on the second card is charming and would brighten anyone's day. TFS

  20. You purchase beautiful dies! I love the shimmer behind the floral one and the tree is so pretty. Fritz is one lucky puppy as well as you. I can't even begin to think of a haircut with everyone wanting one and I am new to the neighborhood. Sometime though before I look like Fritz.
