I hadn't thought about kraft cardstock not being a great choice. However, I somehow managed to get one good panel using a red & a copper spray. The pinkish look is actually from the copper & wish you could see the beautiful TA shimmer.
Next is a card made from one of the vanilla cardstock panels onto which I stamped the dragonfly in Gesso. I used blue & green Tattered Angels mists. I also spritzed lightly with water & blotted with a paper towel, as I had seen in the video. Unfortunately, the image was kind of a blob without definition. The shimmery colors are so beautiful I couldn't bring myself to throw it away. I used my old fashioned stamp positioner so I could stamp the image over the Gesso in Versamark & emboss in Antique Gold ep.
I added a kraft frame & used a light green textured cardstock for the mat. When I bought the Elizabeth Craft Thanks die, I didn't realize how small it was.
For this card it was just what I needed. I used the same ep for the top layer & added a couple cut from vanilla cardstock stacked together for a slightly offset shadow. I'm entering FMS.
Finally is another entry for Poppystamps May Challenge, Winged Things. Once again I used Freida Curve inked with Brilliance Pearlescent Jade. I attached it to a white card spritzed with shimmer spray. The beautiful big butterfly is Poppystamps Dream Butterfly which I die cut twice & attached just in the center. I sponged on a little Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue & added glitter. The PTI Wildflower Garden sentiment was stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist.
Glad to say my friend loves her card. I'm also entering Time Out as butterflies are certainly free!
Wow Greta, what wonderful designs and colors.

Beautiful trio of cards and fabulous techniques. The gesso resist is interesting and it's a great one as you see in your fab result here. xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Greta! Great work with gesso resist! I LOVE your first card with the tan, red and copper. Cutting the image into three is awesome! Your second card is so pretty with the soft blue and green over the dragonfly. Overstamping and heat embossing really brought the details to life. And your third card is gorgeous with the beautiful layered butterflies. Thanks for sharing your gesso card with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
ReplyDeleteSuper set of cards Greta and I love the beautiful design of the Time Out card. It is the extra touches I especially like-the touch of blue on the butterfly and the added sparkle and that lovely base. Thanks for joining Time Out x
ReplyDeleteWhat a great set of cards! Just love that dragonfly! The gesso resist is such a fun technique! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
ReplyDelete3 beautiful and very different cards, but I like them all. It was a very good idea to cut the first panel into 3 as it adds something special to the card. On your second card I was wondering if you had clear gesso because it looked like the kraft card was showing through but it was embossing which created a very clever effect. Your last card is just so delicate and pretty, wonderful xx
ReplyDeletebeautiful array of cards, Greta - those dragonfly ones are gorgeous and the last one is happily on display in my craft room.

ReplyDeleteI am OK,my friend, Greece is doing well with the virus (until now-let's hope it will not get worse in the future). We are not in lockdown any more and since June everything will be back to a "new normal situation".
But I see in tv what happens in US. Please take care of yourself and stay safe.
Hugs, my dear friend.
Oh, Greta! That dragonfly vine stamp totally has my heart! Your cards with it are beautiful. I always love kraft and red together, plus the 3 panels. Been thinking about buying gesso, but not so sure. The green and gold is beautiful, too. Another favorite combo. Finally, your last card... the butterfly with the sponged center, sigh...
