Using my Uniko Prize

I was very lucky to win the October Uniko release & today I have a couple cards using 3 of the stamps.  First is a masculine birthday card to enter the Uniko 8th Birthday Party.  I stamped foliage from Season of Beauty in PTI Prairie Grass, Olive Twist & Spring Moss.
The sentiment from W&W was stamped in Versafine Clair Acorn & I stamped the word birthday a couple extra times to make it a bit darker.  I used a brown Zig for the splatters.  The design was inspired by THIS CARD I saw in Pinterest.  Most of the time I Pin something & never get around to actually making it into a card, so feeling proud of myself--haha!  The colors are more vivid in person, but hopefully you get the idea.

My second card uses Background Blocks Scandinavian Christmas.  I probably wouldn't have added it to an order, but I'm really glad it was part of my prize.  Thought it'd be fun to use for the Christmas Kickstart Red Challenge.
I have lots of red inks, but decided to use one of my oldest--Brilliance Rocket Red.  After it was stamped a couple times to get good, solid images, I cut it into 4 equal rectangles which I matted with kraft cardstock.  I inked a white panel with the same red ink.  One nice thing about Brilliance ink is that it's pigment ink, but dries quickly.  Then I stamped the sentiment from Festive Sentiments Outlined in the red ink & embossed with clear powder.
I saw a card where Beverley (Uniko's owner) colored an outlined sentiment with a gel pen, so I gave it a try.  Not as easy as it sounds--haha!  Luckily, I still had the stamp in my Mini MISTI, so I restamped & embossed it again which made it look great.  Then I added the little stamped panels & attached it to a kraft card.  Finished off by using a shimmer pen on the panels & attached 3 tiny gems in the poinsettia centers.  I'm also entering Virginia's Show & Share.
