W&W

winnie & walter blog

February is Winnie & Walter's 5th birthday.  This year the challenges are based on Leading Lady Rosali's projects.  Challenge 1 is Use Masking with Stencils.

I masked a strip across the center of my panel & then brushed green ink through the W&W Pennsylvania Polka Creative Screenings.  The flowers & leaves from W&W Eva's Favorite Flowers were stamped in VersaMagic Malted Mauve, Perfect Plumeria & Memento Desert Sand.  I added details with a white gel pen.  The sentiment from W&W A Tree for all Seasons was stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist 3 times using my Mini MISTI.  The mat is a piece of gray cardstock that's a close match.  I'm also entering Uniko's 7th BD Party as I'd love to add some Uniko products to my stash.

Challenge 2 is Masking Backgrounds with Dies.

I made a stencil from W&W Do You See What I See?  Cutaway using repositionable label paper--worked great!  I brushed on DI pumice stone darker in the center.  The tree & sentiment from W&W A Tree for all Seasons was stamped in VersaMagic Night Sky--a beautiful dark blue.  I matted the piece with PTI Dark Indigo.  Unfortunately, this card is already in the mail to the only co-worker I've kept in touch with from my first job after college.  Her family was just an hour away from where we worked while my family was over 3 hours away.  Her folks accepted me as a 4th daughter.  I didn't see her older sister very often as she was already married, but just a year older than me.  Patty lost her battle with breast cancer this week & my heart goes out to my friend during this time of grief.

  14. Two fantastic cards Greta. Sorry about the loss of your friend. Hugs to you.
On a brighter note, just wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday, as your birthday card is still sitting in my mailbox to go out to you. We have not had any mail service for several days and of course I haven't been out except to go to my dad's. So hope you have a great day and sometime soon (I hope) you will receive some Happy Mail. Lol Hope you had a great day.
