PTI Cards

Papertrey Ink Blog

Lots of negative comments with all the changes at PTI, but nobody's complaining about the chance to win a $100 gc in the new challenge called Laurie's Fabulous Favorites--haha!  Like Laurie, I really can't pick a favorite--it changes day to day!  I'm not one who sits at the computer waiting for the shop to open on release nights, but that's exactly what I did when Dawn's Delicates dies were introduced.  I also seldom buy kits from any company, but when Don't Forget to Write was released I had to get it.  Truthfully, I haven't used much of the kit except for the pretty pink pen (yep--one reason I got the kit which is pretty silly!) & the wonderful scalloped note card die.  Today--these are my favorites--haha! For my entry I die cut one bloom from Spring Rain cardstock & the other from Blueberry Sky.  I saved the little pieces for another project & just used the outlines.  They were brushed heavily with a shimmer pen & layered together--LOVE the look!

The dot in the center is Wedding Dress Pico Embellisher.  It's the perfect size element for the scalloped note card I cut from white cardstock & splattered with blue ink.

Decided the sentiment will go inside or I'll use it as a note card, if I decide to part with it--haha!
PTI Transformation Tuesday is one of my favorite challenges, so I was really glad to see it's continuing.  This time I used a Fall card I really like as inspiration for a Christmas card.

It's amazing what a difference just changing colors makes--white die cut on red cardstock compared to green die cut on ivory cardstock.  I used another 2 other favorite stamp sets--Spruce & Sprigs foliage with Snowflake Flurries sentiment.  I love Mix & Mat: Flourishes die set so used the same 2 dies as the original card.  The inks are PTI Ripe Avocado, Simply Chartreuse, Prairie Grass, Olive Twist & Weathervane.  The berries are covered in Christmas Red Stickles & I added sparkle to all the foliage with Stardust Gelly Roll pen.

The red mat is Pure Poppy cardstock & PPP Sparkling Clear Confetti provides embellishment.  I plan to make as many flat Christmas cards as possible this year as I'd like them to just need a single stamp.  This one looks dimensional, but it's really very flat.  I'm also entering SSS Monday & Allsorts.

  6. I too had to go over to the PTI Bloga and read up. Wow, such negativity. Honestly, I've had nothing but positive experiences with PTI. I love their cardstock and it is so reasonably priced.

But I'm here for your cards not a PTI discussion.

Your first card is such a stunning use of the die. It is gorgeous and reminds me of a delicate blue flower.

YOur second card makes great use of the delicate frames and is a beautiful Christmas card.

Thank you for the Valentine and the die cuts my friend.

  8. That blue card is simply stunning. The sparkle shows up so well and I love the design of it. I wouldn't blame you for keeping it and maybe framing it for wall art. It does make a huge difference when you change colors on backgrounds or die cuts. Both of those cards are beauties.

  10. WOW! That delicate die is GORGEOUS! I LOVE the shades of blue on it.... so pretty Greta! I also like your lovely Christmas cards! It's funny how changing the color of something makes it look so different! I think that's why I like recreating my cards sometimes... It always looks different than the original! Have a great day!
