PTI CAWU
It's always fun to case a designer for PTI CAWU. Several cards caught my eye & I've made 3 so far.
Michelle's fun rainbow tree on day 3 gave me the idea to try an image from Ombre Builders, but just using green ink.
Kind of fun, but not sure anyone would know it's a tree.
Next I cased one of Dawn's cards on Day 2. For the foliage I used the Meadow Greens ferns with several images from Spruce & Sprigs.
The panel is Aqua Mist & the inks are New Leaf, Aqua Mist, Vintage Jadeite & Olive Twist. I wasn't happy with my stamping on one side, but salvaged it by cutting the panel smaller. The sentiment from Take 3 Winter was stamped in Olive Twist, matching the card front. Hard to see, but the berries are covered in Stickles.
My final card & the one I'm entering in CAWU was inspired by Laurie's Day 1 card using black & gray with a pop of red--so striking! I plan to try it with trees, but for this card I used the same layout & images as my last card stamping in Soft Stone, Weathervane, Smokey Shadow & Brilliance Pearlescent Poppy.
The Soft Stone panel was die cut with Scallop Stackers: Small. I saw it upside down on my table & decided I liked it. The sentiment from Snowflake Flurries was stamped in Smokey Shadow, matching the card front. This time I covered the berries in Christmas Red Stickles. I'm also entering Stamping Sensations & Time Out.
Thanks so much for taking time to stop by. If your blog address is in your profile or comment, I will visit you.

Three lovely cards and the third one is my favourite. I really like the monochromatic look with just a touch of festive red. Beautifully CAS too. Thank you for joining us in our 'Get Ready For Christmas' theme challenge at Stamping Sensations and good luck. Sandra x
ReplyDeleteWOW! I love how you recreated the looks! The small squares in the stacked Christmas tree is just fabulous! I especially love the image choices and layout of the last card. Beautifully done, Greta!
ReplyDeleteThere was a LOT to be inspired by this month, wasn't there?!! Your trio of cards are ALL wonderful Greta...love your tree card (and yes I can tell it was a Christmas tree by the star at the top!!) and case of Dawn's card, but the 3rd card is my favorite! Something so striking about the gray, black, & white and then the pop of red!! Great use of the Meadow Greens and Spruce & Sprigs sets Greta...lovely, lovely cards!! :0)

ReplyDeleteThe star and decorations were a clue that was a tree! That is a fun card. It amazes me how different cards can look with the same stamps but stamped differently and with other colors. These are both so pretty and sure don't look the same.
