It's time for our first challenge of the year at Penny Black Saturday Challenge & it's an easy one: Anything Goes. I pulled out the lovely PB stamp set called enamor--a gift from a sweet friend.
This is my first time to ink it up & now I can't wait to try the other images including a sweet butterfly. I just love the sentiment & it will be used a lot as I often send cards just to give someone happy mail when they don't expect it. I colored with Zig Clean Color markers in 2 shades of purple, pink & blue without adding any water. After the flowers dried I used a fine tip applicator to cover them in Diamond Glaze--something I've been wanting to try. Love the raised, glossy look! Finished them off with PPP clear sequins dotted with silver Stickles.
The panel is die cut with AJVD Dotted Backdrop Rectangle & is mounted flat to a black panel. Another goal this year is to use less foam tape keeping down postage costs--not to mention the cost of the tape--haha! Sometimes flat is really OK & I think that's true for this card. What do you think? I'm entering Penny Black & More, The Playground (large scrap of black cardstock), SSS Monday, SSS Wednesday & Stamplorations Jan CAS. Thanks so much for taking time to visit my blog.

Hope you are feeling much better now! I was down after traveling to Ohio...so not fun to be sick on the road. This card is so sweetly perfect. I love that it has a black frame--it so makes the white panel pop!
ReplyDeleteHi Greta! Happy New Year! Sorry to read you caught the nasties! Glad to see you are better and back to creating lovely cards such as this one! I have been MIA also, and I miss "seeing" evreyone when I am gone. Home now for awhile and can spend some much needed and wanted time in this craft space of mine...esp with the weather that is predicted today and tomorrow! Good excuse, right? Happy 2017!!
ReplyDeletethe soft colors with the black make for such a pretty card, Greta - do feel better soon (airplane ride home from dallas resulted in a nasty cold for me)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you've been ill, Greta, hope you are back to full health again soon. Sometimes you just need to take a blog break and I think that can be no bad thing for a wee while - any longer and I get withdrawal symptoms, you're probably the same! Your card is beautiful - I like flowers and the font on the sentiment is lovely. Happy New Year. Elizabeth xx

ReplyDeleteWhat a yuucky way to start the new year but now you won't have to be sick again this year. I, too, want to spend a little less time on the computer but I can't imagine that happening. I have been on more these last few days as the bone chilling cold is back and I'm staying in. I seem to have lost my mojo and just want to read and be a slug.Your card is such a sweet, colorful one. I love the stamp and the colors together. Someone will have a smile on their face when it comes. Keep feeling better. Hugs.
