I'm honored to be one of the featured stampers today for SSS Flickr Challenge #63. My friend, Rosemary, & I are the first 2 stampers to be asked to Guest Design. The theme is "favorite technique" & must admit it's not easy for me to pick just one. However, my old standby is still emboss resist. My latest SSS order included the wonderful Color Me Trees stamps & dies. I love Christmas sets that can be used all year long & this is certainly one of them.
Thought it'd be fun to try a twist on the usual technique which uses black or white embossing powder. Instead, I used 5 Zing embossing powders--Lavender, Leaf, Apricot, Aqua & Mustard--with 5 Distress Inks--tumbled glass, squeezed lemonade, worn lipstick, shaded lilac & cracked pistachio. Each tree was given a heavy brushing with clear Wink of Stella.
The card is made from SSS Fog cardstock & the sentiment is from Hero Arts Happy Hello stamp set. The panel is mounted with foam tape & PPP marshmallow sequins finish it off. You might want to check out the Flickr challenge as there are always 2 $25 gift certificates given to randomly drawn winners. I'm also entering ATSM & HLS Anything Goes with Dies. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
