First up is my entry for PTI MIM Shadow Backgrounds. I used stamps & dies from The Sweet Life.
For the shadow stamping I used white pigment ink on Smokey Shadow cardstock. It was a little tricky to use the cluster image in a row & have it look right. I didn't want to start over & all I really needed was to cover the edges. That was easily accomplished by trimming a panel of white cardstock & attaching it with fun foam. Actually, I like this better than my first plan anyway! The focal point is made by stamping the 2 detail layers in Pale Peony & Berry Sorbet onto a die cut of Sweet Blush cardstock. Must have taken me 1/2 hr to get the layers lined up--sheesh! Now that I have the stamps in place in my Mini MISTI I'm stamping a bunch of die cuts in various colors. The leaves are Soft Stone die cuts stamped in Soft Stone ink. The sentiment is stamped in black & the dots are Pico Embellisher which I seem to have much better luck using than Nuvo Drops. I think this sentiment works for a birthday card celebrating someone's life. I'm also entering Stamping Sensations.
Next is my first card using the SSS Floral Cluster die. Doubt I'll have the patience to use it this way again, but I do like the artsy look from the interior pieces without the outline.
Sweet Life is so elegant and I love the colors you've used in the MIM! That was clever to confine your design with the popped up white card stock. Your kraft card's subtle simplicity is gorgeous. You even staged it with the perfect pen! Good job.
ReplyDeleteYay! for the win! Have fun shopping!
DeleteLove how you've done the shadow stmapimg on your first beautiufl card. The white on the dark card stock looks fabulous and do those flowers and so clever to stamp a few whilst you where at it x. The kraft card is so pretty and well worth the patience, such a cute card x.

ReplyDeleteThe shadow technique is super lovely with the pretty flowers, Greta! And, second card is very pretty, too! I can see it would take a lot of patience with all the small pieces! But, truly a lovely card!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Love them both!

Each time I see The Sweet Life being used, I'm reminded of how it lends itself to creating stunning cards. Yours is no exception. The roses look beautiful stamped on colored c/s and the design is fabulous. I looked at your second card before reading your description and thought that you had used a stencil with embossing paste. The process with the many die cuts may have been fussy, but the results are superb.
ReplyDeleteGreta, that you go again, making me swoon over your cards! Both are so beautiful. I just love when you play with florals! I adore the technique you used on the last card, but I hear ya, patience is not always easy to come by! Thank you so much for all of your love and sweet support, dear friend! I hope the heat wave doesn't last too long!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards Greta...and you are so right to keep stamping those blooms once you have the layers set up!
ReplyDeleteVisions of pink loveliness Greta! Your first card is so striking and elegant while the second is ever so sweet! Love them both my friend!
ReplyDeleteLove the shadow technique on the dark background - it works so beautifully with the bold, pink blooms. I can see that the technique for the second card would be a bit tricky, but boy, it looks so good. Lovely on the Kraft with the soft colours. TFS
ReplyDeleteThe roses on your first card look so life like and gorgeous! Love the layout with the shadow stamped strip, too! I can imagine that it was time consuming and fiddly to use just the inside pieces of the die cut but the look of you second card is fabulous! Well worth it (says me, who didn't do it, lol)!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, I love the smokey shadowed background. And a big CONGRATS on your MIM win!
ReplyDeletetwo beautiful cards Greta. The soft shadows look great in the soft white with the smokey grey. Great design. And all the work on your second card is well worth the outcome. Totally amazing.
