Friendship Blossom & Christmas Trees

I couldn't resist the first C&9 Throwback Thursday sale so I now own the beautiful Brushed Blossom stamp set & die plus a few other C&9 goodies.  Decided to start by making a card with the die for the challenge at WCMC9
My mediums are watercolor & heat embossing.  I embossed the outline with SSS Antique Gold embossing powder.  The coloring of the little pieces was done with Liquid Pearls Pink & Garden using a wet brush.  I don't have much luck using them for embellishments, so I was glad to learn you can watercolor with them.  They have a wonderful shimmer--gorgeous in person.  I used thin foam adhesive for the large blossom & the other pieces are glued flat.  The sentiment from the stamp set is also embossed with the Antique Gold.  The background die cut is from a friend & that die may also end up at my house--love it!  Finished off with some white & pale pink sequins.  Classy & elegant is my favorite style, so this one makes me happy.  I'm also entering CropStop & SSS Wednesday
Challenges
Next is a Christmas card for the MFT Sketch challenge using Trim the Tree--a set I got in one of the MFT sales a long time ago.
The fun tree was stamped in Distress Oxide Lucky Clover & I used Clear Star gel pen to color the little dots.  MFT Stitched Oval Scallop Frames die cut was stacked 2 high & the sentiment from the same set was stamped in Distress Oxide Candied Apple.  Decided to leave it pretty CAS & just added clear sequins.  I'm also entering ModSquad, SSS Wednesday & Stamplorations.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Edited to add: Also entering Rudolph Days.

Friendship and Christmas

I wanted to enter Winnie & Walter Rerun No. 32, but I don't have Mini Scenery: Madison.  Fortunately you can also make a card inspired by one from the DT.  I love Kelly's rainbow of scallops colored with Zigs.  Decided to use Cover Model: Do You See What I See as a stencil.
I scribbled Zigs onto a palette, picked up the color with a small damp brush & painted over the stencil.  Since I just wanted a watercolor look, I didn't try to be exact.  The panel was covered with a frame made from SSS Frames & a Spellbinders rectangle.  Had to improvise by cutting & attaching the scalloped edge to the inside of the rectangle to make it the right size.  I used foam tape to attach the panel to the card front.  Like Kelly's card, everything is white except for the Zig coloring.
Love my new Mama Elephant sentiment die cut which I stacked 3 high & covered with Stickles.  I'm also entering AAA Cards, SSS Wednesday & SSS Work It Wednesday.

Next is a Christmas card I've had in mind since I entered Betsy's PTI MIM Ombre Watercolor Backgrounds with this Thanksgiving card.
Previous Card
Decided to use it for PTI Transformation Tuesday & MIM Repeating the Greeting
New Card
The stamps are Spruce & Sprigs and the inks are Ocean Tides, Hawaiian Shores & Aqua Mist.  Love that I ended up with a one layer card.  The sentiment is from PTI Peaceful Poinsettia.  The lighter ones stamped twice in Aqua Mist are quite visible in person, even though it doesn't look like it in the photo.

I wanted some sparkle, so spritzed heavily with Tsukineko Sparkle mist--just gorgeous!  I'm also entering ModSquad, SSS Wednesday & Rudolph Days.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop Challenge

It's PTI Blog Hop day & surprise, surprise--I made a card!  The inspiration photo has a nautical theme.  However, I was inspired by the color combo & use of small images.
My first idea was to make a wreath, so that's what I did.  The images are from Corner Adorner: February, Garden Gild & Friendship Jar Flowers.  The inks are Blueberry Sky, Enchanted Evening & Memento Love Letter.  I added Stickles Frosted Lace & Nuvo Glaze to the flower centers.  The Mama Elephant frame was die cut from Enchanted Evening cardstock.  Fun to make something a little different using red, white & blue.  Thanks for taking time to stop by & enjoy the hop!  I'm also entering SSS WednesdayStamplorations & WAW.

Cross Stitch Tag

The view is beautiful where we camp along the bay, so had to take another sunset photo.  It's so great having such beauty out the windows of our trailer.
I don't take stamps when we're gone, but I did take a few more MFT Cross Stitch Tag die cuts.  When I realized I had floss with me that was close enough for Color Challenge 97, I looked for a pattern that would work & found the Cupcake
You might think the floss is red & pink, so that's why I included the pink floss in the photo--not what I used.  Decided to experiment with making a border & love how it turned out.  I'm not one who can come up with their own patterns, so even this simple border was a big deal for me--haha!  When we got home I found matching cardstock for the top of the tag.  The yellow mat is splattered with white paint--barely visible in the photo.  I used a PTI Tiny Tags sentiment stamped in Classic Kraft multiple times to get it dark enough.  Gotta love the mini MISTI!  A local friend has a July birthday, so I can hand deliver this card which would be a little difficult to mail with the ribbon & twine tied on & the tag attached with foam tape.  I'm also entering DRU, The Snippets Playground & SSS Wednesday.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

PTI

We got away from the heat for a few days at the bay where we like to camp.  One evening 5 seals were fishing very close to our site--fun to watch!  Always enjoy getting back to making cards & I started with PTI.
First is my entry for MIM: Creating Stencils from Die Cuts.  I happen to have the smallest die from Mix & Mat: Flourishes already cut from white cardstock, so decided to use that.
First I used a blending sponge with Spring Rain & then I turned the stencil over & blended with Green Parakeet to make the pattern you see.  I kept it light & it almost looks like vellum.  The butterfly & sentiment are from Butterfly Hope & I used the same inks, plus Soft Stone for the butterfly body.  Hard to tell, but the butterfly is layered to one die cut from vellum.  I added a very small Green Parakeet mat & then attached it to the Spring Rain Mix & Mat: Flourishes die cut.  I tried a white card, but much prefer the look using Soft Stone.
Finished off by adding Wink of Stella & light blue sequins to the butterfly.  I'm also entering HLS Anything Goes with Dies, SSS Monday & SSS Wednesday.

Somehow I missed the last Transformation Tuesday--not going to let that happen again--haha!  I have 3 of the now retired Take 3 stamp sets, which I love.
Today's card uses the same basic layout as the Fall card I made using Pigment Powders over Versamark ink.  This time I made a one layer Christmas card using Distress Oxides faded jeans & broken china for emboss resist.  Love how you can easily stamp with DO ink for a matching sentiment.  I added white dots as snowflakes using my extra fine point Sharpie.  Decided against adding twine or any embellishments--really like it as is.  I'm also entering CAS on Sunday, HLS Christmas, ModSquad & Stamplorations.  I'll catch up with you as soon as I can.

SSS & MFT

Here's my second card using the SSS Flower Cluster die.  I used Zigs & a damp brush to color the outline which I didn't use in my first card
The color is more vivid than I captured in the photo & it's so pretty on SSS Fog cardstock.  I brushed the die cut with Wink of Stella--just love the shimmer!
A black Zig has become my favorite way to get tiny splatters & the sentiment from SSS Thoughtful Messages was stamped in Versafine Smokey Gray.  I still have a lot of gems & fortunately one package included gray--adds some sparkle, but doesn't distract from the delicate focal point.  I'm entering SSS Flickr Challenge 101, SSS MondaySSS Work It Wednesday.

I really want to get back to regularly entering MFT challenges & use my many goodies from them.  Kind of wierd, but I'm starting off with a Halloween card!
Actually, when I saw the sketch it reminded me of the star border in MFT Primitive Pumpkins.  I stamped it in Distress Oxide Twisted Citron on a kraft card base & stamped the sentiment from the same set in Memento Rich Cocoa.  I attached Grape Jelly felt to cardstock & then die cut with one of the pumpkins in the coordinating die set.  I tied on a piece of brown twine & added a little wooden star covered with Nuvo Glaze before attaching it to the card.  Finished off with 3 SSS Mocha Java sequins.  I'm entering MFT Sketch 393.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
