Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop Challenge

Pretty stormy last night & we even lost our electricity.  Finally came back on, so I'm getting a late start to the day.  Didn't see any reason to get up at the usual time when I couldn't make coffee--haha!

Fortunately, I did make my card for the PTI January Blog Hop last night.  I tried out 5 or 6 designs on scratch paper with PTI Garden Gild & eventually got one I liked.  My inspiration came from the pink, aqua & gold cones in the bottom right corner of the picture, along with all the white & a birthday theme.

I really am a stamper at heart, not that I don't love using dies.  But once again I ended up with a CAS one layer card.  The 2 foliage stamps were placed on an acrylic block & stamped across the top of the card in Delicata Golden Glitz, alternating each time.  Then I stamped one little flower in Lovely Lady & the other one in Aqua Mist.  The large word was stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa with Classic Kraft for the shadow, so I'm also entering PTI MIM
Finished off with tiny splatters of the pink & aqua & clear gems in the flower centers.  Originally I was thinking of a wreath, but I love how this turned out.  Probably need to just sit & play more often, rather than trying to force something to work.  Always tons of inspiration in the hops--enjoy & thanks for taking time to stop by.  I'm also entering Time Out & W2CB.

  24. I love the delicate, sweet flowers in those soft colors. Clean and simple always makes a beautiful card and you showed that. Glad your storms are over and no damage. We have (gulp) sunshine today and temps in the 50's. I am taking Molly to get her nails cut.

  25. Love your why get up thinking LOL.

Your card is so pretty, you certainly are a glorious stamper. I wish I could get on with stamps, so many stampers get wonderful results, as you have with this card.

  29. Hi Greta, What a pretty card! With CAS creations like these, one layer cards work just fine. And, can I just say how impressed I am that you did that stamping with an acrylic block. (I wouldn't even begin to think of trying that without my MISTI.) Thanks so much for playing along with our Magic of Beginnings Challenge at Words 2 Craft By. It's always such a pleasure to see one of your works of heart in our W2CB Gallery. :)
