Slow start to the day with me still trying to get rid of this congestion & cough and hubby managing to burn his hand. It's one of those things where you say to yourself--"how could I be that stupid?!--so I didn't say anything. He's going to have some blisters, but isn't in a lot of pain, thankfully.
Anyway, I'm finally getting my card posted for Ellen Hutson Mix it Up with Concord & 9th. I used my first C&9 product, Flourish stamp set, so I'm also entering WCMC9.
Finally used a bit of the stem stamped in a light gray. I didn't like it, so went over the whole thing with my pumice stone Distress marker. I used the same inks on the flowers & berries (Brilliance Pearlescent Poppy, Pearlescent Rust & Pearlescent Olive) just in different orders & amounts. The white dots are done with my extra fine point Sharpie which works so much better for me than the white gel pen & the tiny splatters are DI hickory smoke. I stacked the words from EH Merry and Bright dies 2 high, colored with the pumice stone marker & covered them in Crystal Laquer. A tiny gem replaces the dot & I decided against any other embellishments. Not sure who I'll send this to, but think it could work for a masculine BD card. I'm also entering Allsorts. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by. Please be safe if you're in the path of the winter storms.
Just love the flowers coming in from the corner, Greta! Great white dot detail too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant design Greta!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Greta. The white sharpie gives such a great clean looking dot. Might have to get myself one next time I'm in the stationery store.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!

Now it's my turn to tell you to get treated for congestion. It has gone on long enough! I'm sorry to hear about hubby's hand. I hate it when those things happen. Sometimes we just don't pay attention to what we are doing. I love this stamp and the card is just gorgeous. I like the dark stem and the white dots were a nice addition to showcase the image.
ReplyDeletebeautiful design, greta!! love the rich warm colors you used!! I think you need to get that cough and congestion checked out, my friend!!
ReplyDeleteI love how the flower stands out; fab colours and fab design! Lovely Greta! I hope you will be better soon.....sending a hug!
ReplyDeleteGreat colours you've achieved Greta and love the layout of your CAS card. Yes it would make a wonderful masculine card. Glad you are on the mend, but it's taken it's time...Mine is nearly there but still not quite! Hope your husband's hand heals soon and sometimes it's best not to say anything and it sounds like it was one of those times! x
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card Greta! Hope you feel better!
ReplyDeleteSuper image and colours, and a lovely layout with the sentiment die.

Sorry to hear your cough and congestion is hanging on, Greta! I hope you get to feeling better very soon! Sorry to hear that your husband burned his hand. I hope he heals quickly! It’s difficult not to say something at times, right?:) Your card is just lovely! Love the pretty flower and great design! Take good care, hugs!!
ReplyDeleteYour card is so very gorgeous and well done using that stamp set. It was the first stamp set I ever bought from Concord & 9th too. I just fell in love with those fun floral images. And, hope you get to feeling better every day now.
ReplyDeleteSometimes Nurses wait too long before seeking professional care....just saying....I do hope you are back to full health very soon. But now to your card. I love the colours you chose and the universal nature of the card, it could be used for so many occasions. Sounds strange to hear you saying keep safe in the winter storms when it's 43C (109.4F) here today and tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous, love the colours.
ReplyDeleteHope you and hubby get well soon.

Beautiful marriage of the two brands. I love that sentiment.
ReplyDeleteSure hope you've seen a doctor, sorry to hear you're still under the weather. And oh my goodness to hubby's burn, that's no fun at all. This fabulous card would be a good on etc give him with the regal red and CAS design!
ReplyDeleteOh lovely i am so sorry you have been poorly and that hubs hurt his hand ! I do hope you are both ok xxx
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card, I don't have this set but always admired it and you have created such a beauty with it.
Sending lots of love and hugs xxxx
Hope you're both feeling better by now. I love how you used these two companies, Greta. And you've intrigued me... white Sharpie? I'm not a huge fan of white gel pens either, they are so finicky.
ReplyDeleteWhat a Beautie!
