I started my on-line stamping life with the Hero Arts Flickr group. Today my good friend, Betty gave us the theme of Fall with a metallic for the HA 90 minute scramble. I was inspired by Iliana's card, so will also enter my card in the a2z Sept Challenge.
The black panel was dry embossed with a folder by The Paper Studio & then I embossed the 2 LifeStyle Crafts circle dies. The gorgeous HA leaf die is from the new Autumn Icons set which I absolutely love! I die cut it from copper cardstock given to me by my sweet friend, Rosemary. First card made with these dies, so I'm also entering Darnell's NBUS challenge. The sentiment from HA Find Joy was embossed with JudiKins Metallic Bronze powder on a vellum strip. Couldn't believe a sequin in a multi-colored pack matched perfectly! I'm also entering SSS Monday & SSS Wednesday.
Next is my entry for Heather's W&W Sept Color Challenge. I smooshed 3 DIs ( pumice stone, frayed burlap & ground espresso) on a watercolor panel, drying between each color.
My favorite W&W hello die was stacked 3 high & brushed with Wink of Stella. I stamped the bloom from In Bloom: Frenchy's Festive Florals with VersaMagic Red Magic. I decided against the white border, so trimmed the die cuts with scissors & added more ink with an applicator.
The white dots in the centers were covered with black Nuvo drops by using a pointed toothpick. The tricky part was figuring out exactly where to stamp the branches from the same set using pumice stone & ground espresso. Two blooms were glued flat & the third one was attached with foam tape. I'll use this for a winter note card. I'm also entering Inkspirational & SSS Wednesday. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Beautiful card which is so elegant and sophisticated in it's style ~ gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing and for playing along with us over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog... x
ReplyDeletetwo fantastic cards, Greta - the background on the second card with the red is just gorgeous-looks like a winner to me!
ReplyDeleteThe metallic leaf is so pretty and really pops on the black background! And I love how you incorporated the colors of the W & W challenge in your gorgeous card!
ReplyDeletewow! this is a lovely color combo, thanks for entering a2z!
ReplyDeleteCAS at its best...simplicity, subtle and stunning!!
ReplyDeleteLove them both Greta, your scramble card really stood out in the flickr gallery. Your hello card is a great fall beauty.
ReplyDeleteYey to the perfect sequin on your first very striking card. Love the copper and that great die. The background on your second card is great and is so perfect for those pretty red flowers. Yes I sometimes like to colour in the white around the edges from the die cuts, looks so much better and really works on your gorgeous card x
ReplyDeletethe copper leaf against the black background is just stunning, greta!! gorgeous take on the inspiration card!! your use of the inspiration colors on the second card is fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteAutumn must be a wonderful thing to experience in the Northern Hemisphere. We don't have those dramatic changes of colour where I live - it's mostly evergreens and Eucalypts. But I digress! The copper leaf is gorgeous on the black background and the muddled smooshing on the second card is perfect foil for the red and black elements. TFS
ReplyDeleteI really like the elegant copper leaf and sentiment! Fabulous card Greta. The second is lovely too!
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards, Greta! First card is a beauty with the copper leaf, sentiment, and sequin! And, second card is so pretty with the wonderful background! Love how the black hello sentiment and pop of red flowers catches my eye! Great take on the challenge! Take care and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI love your copper leaf and it looks fantastic against the black embossed background. Copper looks so rich and elegant. Your second card has a great background. I never know which colors to use together but yours always look wonderful. Went to pharmacy and they said use Mucinex. I took it 3 times yesterday and for some reason I don't seem to be coughing as much this morning. I thought it would make me cough more so I'm confused but better.
ReplyDeleteI love this fall card, Greta! I'm always a fan of copper and this leaf, sequint, and awesome sediment banner are just divine!! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #12! Hugs, Darnell

Wonderful cards! The first one is so classy and the second one has the most beautiful rustic charm to it... Love the earthy tones!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, Greta! I realized after the fact that the card I made last night for W&W looks a lot like yours and wanted you to know that I wasn't intentionally "copying"! :) Who knows, though, subliminally I might have drawn inspiration from yours because it is so very lovely...but I didn't mean to. Hope you are having a great day!
