Some leaves have already turned & I'm having fun making Fall cards. First up is my entry for PTI MIM: Small Images on Repeat.
I've looked at this sweet little tree from Through the Trees many times, but had no idea what to do with it until now. I stamped with Perfect Medium onto ivory cardstock & brushed on copper, bronze & gold Perfect Pearls.
Dug out an old square punch--glad I kept it. After stamping the sentiment from Autumn Adornments on kraft, I embossed the panel with a Paper Studio folder. Added the twine bow & popped up the images. I'm also entering SSS Monday & SSS Wednesday.
I missed the last Winnie & Walter Rerun Challenge, so decided not to put off making something for this one: No. 23, A Tree for all Seasons. I've had my eye on that set, but don't have it yet. My inspiration came from Vanessa's wonderful leaf card. I just watched an old Jennifer McGuire technique video inking an embossing folder with a light color, then inking the raised part of the panel with a darker color. I again used the woodgrain folder & inked with Memento Toffee Crunch & Rich Cocoa. Actually came out pretty good--yah!
Wanted to use it for a different background with The Leaf Effect Cutaway. Kind of neat, I think. Blue & brown is a favorite color combo, so used a blue textured scrap for the In a Word: Happy Cutaway. I've done shadows before, but don't think I've done a double one with 2 different colors. The leaves are covered in Wink of Stella & the stamped word is from Big, Bold Seasons. Almost gave up, but then I found a blue in the PPP Share Kindness Mix sequins that matched--yah, again! I'm also entering The Playground & Word Art Wednesday. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Greta, your cards are so pretty! I love your use of the metallic Perfect Pearls on the mini-trees. Your leaf card technique is one that I need to try again. Thankful for our bit of rain today. I'm tired of breathing out of an ashtray.

My 89 Dad and step mom are right in the path of Irma in South Florida, we are very worried, but they were not evacuated as they are just far enough away from the coast. Thanks for your kind words at my blog, they are appreciated. Have a great weekend, hugs xx

ReplyDeleteWonderful card, Greta!
ReplyDeleteYay, a use for that small tree, Greta. TFS! I need practice with Perfect Pearls after SAF. That card is very striking and also love the second one with touches of blue and brown leaves. Never thought we'd be so thankful for rain here either to wash away the smoke and ash. I feel so sorry for all the emergency responders everywhere and those whose homes have been destroyed across the US.
ReplyDeleteHi Greta,
ReplyDeletewonderful cards and your designs are excellent.
Love all the wonderful designs and great use of snippets too.
I do so hope that the people in the path of that hurricane were safe, and their properties wern't danmaged too much.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
The hurricanes are all over the news here; such a horrible sight to see how much is destroyed. People lost all their posessions and so tragic that people were killed due to these hurricanes. Your cards are stunning; I love the CAS design of your fall card and the technique with the embossing folder is fab!
ReplyDeleteStay safe,
