I admire people who have a signature style, but I'm OK with not being one of them. Here are 3 of my latest cards--all different.
First is the card I made for SSS Flickr Challenge #68 using my new SSS die called Bright Blossoms. The smooshed background was done on watercolor paper with Distress Inks salty ocean, mermaid lagoon, lucky clover & cracked pistachio.
I die cut the blossoms from the panel & silver glitter paper. The silver outline was put back into the panel & the watercolor flower pieces were inlaid into the outline. I used a COPIC & more blue watercoloring to make them darker. TH stickers were used for the sentiment. I'm also entering CropStop, HLS Anything Goes with Dies & Word Art Wednesday.
My blogging friend, Ros (have we really never met in person?!) is up for CCCB Birthday Case #2. Her darling kitty card at first stumped me, but then I decided her layout would work great for another card using my HA bunny die.
I used a lighter pink felt this time & also die cut the little bow from white cardstock. I used an old HA heart shaped pearl to hopefully make the bow girly. Fun to do a soft watercolor wash with DI peacock feathers. The sentiment is from the same HA set & I finally used the Easter egg Washi tape I bought a few years ago. I learned from my friend Alexandra, splatters work on cute as well as artsy cards. I'll surprise hubby with this card on Sunday. I'm also entering ABNH & SSS Monday.
Edited to add: Also entering SSS Work It Wednesday.
Last is my entry for PTI CAWU. There are always so many wonderful cards to choose from, but I decided to go with one of the first that caught my eye--Nichole's rainbow card on Day 2. The new lace stamp reminded me of Autumn Adornments--a set I've hardly used.
The inks are Scarlet Jewel, Terracotta Tile, Ripe Avocado, Honey Nut & Summer Sunrise. The sentiment from the same set is gold embossed & I added 3 gold sequins. Two strips of Classic Kraft were mounted on each side with foam tape. I'm also entering Fusion (sketch) & Stamping Sensations. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by. Wishing everyone a lovely Easter weekend.
Yes I am with you on embracing the variety of styles etc...keeps me interested. I love seeing your varied creations here. But I do think you have a signature running through - your cards are always have an air of gracefulness, even when they are fun and cute like your fabulous bunny card. Thanks for joining in at City Crafter.
ReplyDeleteThree amazing cards! I think it's wonderful that a card maker can make cards in different styles, be proud of this quality in you! Happy Easter!

ReplyDeleteHi Greta, all three are very beautiful, I especially love the watercolour look on the top one. I admire people that create with different 'styles'. I think sometimes that I keep using the same techniques and they all look the same. Have a great Easter, Shirleyxx ps.. sorry I haven't been around, life has been very busy
ReplyDeletethree wonderful cards Greta - but the first one stole my heart - gorgeous blues, silver, a little watercolor - just lovely - have a blessed Easter, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThree FABULOUS cards Greta...love them all!! I especially like what you did with the Autumn Adornments set...I love that set and will have to remember this rainbow idea...SO cool!! :0)
ReplyDeleteJust love all three cards - so what if they're all different styles; that's how the creative spirit moved you! All cool for various reasons but that little pink bunny tickled me - Happy Easter!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's great to have different styles! One is always learning as a crafter, which makes it so fun! And, you have shown in your lovely cards how fun it is to use different techniques! Your first card is just fabulous with the die cut flower! Beautiful silver inlay and lovely water colored panel! Happy Easter!!
ReplyDeleteOh Wow! Lots of beautiful inspiration here! I think it's wonderful that you can create so many different styles of cards - after all: "Variety is the spice of life!" Love your color choice and "smooshed" background on the card you linked up to Cropstop! Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a signature style either... because why limit yourself, right? Absolutely adore your glittery watercolored first card! So stunning! The pink felt bunny is adorable with the colorful eggs and I love how you used the ornamental stamp in the last card! It was very creative to raise the side panel instead of the center one! Fabulous cards!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter, my friend!
wonderful set of cards, greta!! love your take on nichole's card! the two strips of kraft cardstock really make the stamping pop!
ReplyDeleteEach card is very pretty, but I'm particularly fond of the first one. The glittered silver outline looks wonderful with that rich blue color! Happy Easter :)
ReplyDeleteThree lovely cards Greta and I think the different styles make it more interesting. The light and airy Thankful card reminds me of Autumnal tones, which are just beginning to appear here. The charming bunny card is sweet with the eggs across the bottom and my fave is the floral blue with the water colour wash and shimmers of silver. TFS
ReplyDeleteI think it's god to be able to create different styles Greta, just look at what you have produced here which shows no matter the style each is perfectly executed. The first really has depth and like the idea of the touches of glitter, the second is such fun and the third so stylish.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for sharing with us at Stamping Sensations challenge.
