April 1st was hubby's son-in-law's birthday. This year I had so much fun using an old never before used Hero Arts stamp I actually tried to sell a few years ago--glad I didn't! My inspiration came from Jennifer McGuire's video.
S-I-L has an old Carmen Ghia he's working on & it already has beautiful new red paint, so I used some old stencil brushes with red Distress Ink. Of course, the stamped images don't look like his car, but both hubby & S-I-L love the card. The sentiment from Impression Obsession was die cut from black cardstock which I also used to cover the card front. I'm entering ABNH, Darnell's NBUS Challenge #11, Stamping Sensations & Word Art Wednesday.
Next is another Easter card I made for the last Hero Arts Flickr Scramble. HA Classic Fabric Design was gold embossed and then sponged with Distress Inks shaded lilac, victorian velvet & bundled sage.
The stamped panel & the Spellbinders Labels 10 brown card front are spritzed with gold Perfect Pearls. Fun to use some of the beautiful May Arts ribbon I won a few years ago. After the Scramble I decided to add PTI Tiny Tags die cuts with a sentiment from that stamp set embossed in brown on a scrap of vellum & tied on with gold thread. I'll put an Easter greeting on the inside. I'm entering Dies R Us, Penny Black & More, The Playground, SSS Wednesday & SSS National Crafting Month. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Edited to add: Also entering SSS Work it Wednesday.

ReplyDeleteHi, Greta! What a fun birthday card and a beautiful Easter card.
ReplyDeleteTwo fun cards but my favorite must be the Easter card, what a rich, luxurious look, makes me think of those super expensive art eggs from Russia, what are those called... Maybe you know what I mean, the name escapes me! :)

ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful inking on this card. Thank you for blessing us with your artwork here at Word Art Wednesday. We are midway on our current challenge and I hope you join us again. Leaving you with the inspiration of God's Word found in 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 which tells us, "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love." Have an awesome week.
