It was so fun to repeatedly stamp an image from Autumn Adornments for my CAWU entry, that I used another one for this card. I used my Mini MISTI to stamp twice each time with Soft Stone ink on white cardstock. I die cut on oval from a Soft Stone panel & stamped the sentiment from Take Three: Summer.
The flowers are embellished with white sparkly dots. Couldn't decide on what else to do, so it went into the mail like this. The family gave me a surprise retirement party on Easter with cake, balloons, banner--the whole bit! I'm also entering SSS Wednesday & SSS Work it Wednesday.
PTI Butterfly Hope cover plate has been sitting on my table unused, so I went looking for color ideas & came upon The Color Throwdown. Think I've only entered there once before, but the combo of red, orange, purple & yellow inspired me. The wedding bouquet in the picture is stunning!
I used Distress Inks festive berries, spiced marmalade & seedless preserves for a smooshed background on watercolor paper--drying between each color with my heat gun. Then I splashed on plain water & blotted with a paper towel. Next I sprayed heavily with Tsukineko Goose Bumps--maybe went a little overboard--haha! Certainly did add texture & shine to the background!
I used textured yellow cardstock for the cover plate & backed it with another white layer for just a bit of dimension. Clear Spectrum Noir was brushed on heavily & I colored the bodies with a dark yellow Zig, shading out a little. Needed something more, so I used yellow Stickles on the butterflies & added a few dots to the background. Decided against a sentiment on the front--may use this just for a note card. I'm also entering Crop Stop, HLS Anything Goes with Dies, SSS Monday (although my splashes are hard to see) & Stamplorations Things with Wings Blog Hop. Thanks so much for stopping by.
