I actually went literal so I could use one of my very old (2003) PB stamps that has a quote I've always loved. It's really appropriate for the weather where I live & for life. I stamped PB Before the Snow (2009) in Adirondak Bottle Green (a pad I've had nearly 20 years!) using it full strength & second generation across a white panel. The vellum was cut slightly smaller so the bottom of the trees are not covered to symbolize that the shower ended.
I used Diamond Glaze to make the raindrops--another product I've had for many years & it still comes out of the bottle great! Are you seeing a theme here?! I know companies need people to keep buying if they're to stay in business, but I've done more than my share for nearly 20 years! Not that I've stopped buying & in fact the dotted die I used to stitch across the top is a new purchase from Paper Smooches. The sentiment is stamped & edged in VersaMagic Jumbo Java. Hope I've inspired you to join us. I'm also entering SSS Monday, SSS Wednesday & Retro Rubber. Thanks so much for taking time to visit my blog.
Edited to add: also entering JUGS.

ReplyDeleteGreat idea to use the vellum to make it misty! And love the stitching across the top to keep in place. Love the Bottle Green. I have quite a few old Adirondack pads, too, plus reinkers. My stamp room is full of things that need to get used up!

ReplyDeleteThis has so much depth and feeling, Greta! I have that stamp and love it, but I have a really hard time figuring out how to design around it! You have showcased it brilliantly!! Enjoy your day! (I hope to see you next year for the Boo Boo Hop!) Hugs, Darnell

Hi Greta! Trying to catch up on blogs I've missed for the past month. (Been helping my mother get well with her new hip.) This is so gorgeous! I love the way you've used the vellum for that wintery look. Christmas cards are such fun to make all year round, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteI was so sure I had commented on this one already...must have seen it at flickr ... Oh well, I love the vellum overlay adds a mysterious mist. Very eye catching.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Misty Morning indeed. This card is perfect!
