Sampler & a Valentine
A 1 1/2 inch square is not very big, but one of the PTI challenges celebrating their 9th anniversary is to use 9 of these squares--each one different--on a 5 1/2 inch square card. When I first read the instructions I thought each square was to have a different technique, so that's what I did. I decided on an ombre color scheme using PTI Ripe Avocado, Simply Chartreuse & Limeade Ice using Simply Chartreuse cardstock for the card front. The stamp sets/dies are all PTI: Turning a New Leaf, Twig Wreath, Harvest Berries, Friendly Flowers, Tiny Tags, Trendy Tree Tops, Background Basics: Geometrics, The Sweet Life & Meadow Greens.
The techniques starting at the top, left are: stamping, negative die cut, faux tile, heat emboss using dye ink then Versamark, die cut, stamp kissing, emboss resist, layered (2 step) stamping & generation stamping. I really had fun making my card for the Sampler Square Challenge.
I also want to share the Valentine I made for a recent Hero Arts 90 minute Scramble. Betty gave us a beautiful photo inspiration. I used the hearts but rather than pink I participated in my friend Alexandra's rendez-vous: A Touch of Red.
Love this old Hero Arts stamp which I silver embossed & then added silver Stickles to a few of the hearts. The sentiment is made with Sizzix fun foam die cut letters (left over from a challenge long ago) colored with a red COPIC marker. I'm also entering Just Us Girls, ABNH & Time Out Challenges. Thanks so much for taking time to visit my blog.
