Our Adventure--no card

Back home after our camping trip to recover from our vacation--LOL!  Hubby & I are fine, but poor Fritz still isn't back to his old self. Apparently he ate & slept very little the 9 days he was boarded. Here he is enjoying a sunbath in the trailer.  We had wonderful weather at the bay--lots of sun, cooler temps & not much wind!
OUR ADVENTURE
Some of you will remember that hubby discovered his father last year through Ancestry.Com DNA. His father died over 40 years ago, but hubby has gone from being an only child with no cousins to having 15 living first cousins!  We attended the family reunion in Virginia & they welcomed him with open arms--& me, too!  He was able to meet 12 first cousins & of course lots of family members.  It was also great to see a part of the country we'd never explored.
Loved seeing a couple cardinals & eating fried green tomatoes--won't miss the humidity!
Thanks for being my friend & sharing with me. Hopefully I'll remember how to do my job this weekend & have time to visit your blogs & maybe finish a card! Hugs, Greta

  8. I'm so happy for your hubby. What a wonderful surprise and how wonderful you were able to meet them and have such a nice reunion. Your photos show some beautiful country and it is nice to "see" you and hubby. Poor Fritz. Molly doesn't eat when we are gone either. She also gets sick to her stomach and it takes several days to get her back to normal. I'm sure he was in heaven to see you come back.

  17. My dear Greta! Apologies for my tardy commenting, but whew...August has been hectic! In fact, I've just returned from being in Edmonton (left my husband behind, as he's off to be an official at Tour of Alberta; I'm heading back Thursday after work...a four day weekend! Yayyy!) and I'm in need of cheering up! No one does that better than YOU! So I am gallery strolling! Your trip sounds excellent; how fabulous to meet and be so warmly welcomed by your husband's newly-found family! The scenery: so pretty! And Fritz...oh my! He just gets cuter every time I see him! I bet he was glad to have you back home!
    Hugs~c
