I Count Myself Lucky

With a huge SSS wishlist, can't miss entering the SSS Flickr challenge.  Turns out the prize at Virginia's View is also a gift certificate to SSS & my card works for SSS Wednesday.  Now to hope & wait--LOL!  The gorgeous cherry blossoms on our neighbor's trees provided my inspiration.
I began with a piece of watercolor paper & used the Watercolor Smooshing technique with Distress Inks picked raspberry & iced spruce. I colored the paper with 1 color at a time & dried between colors.  After die cutting SSS Clustered Leaves I dry embossed the leaves & spritzed with Tattered Angels Graphite & Pearl which gives such a gorgeous shimmer.  The blossoms are SSS Bella Bloom die cut from watercolor paper & colored with the same Distress Inks using a waterbrush.  I also spritzed them with the Tattered Angels & used the brush to edge them with Versafine Onyx Black.  The centers are die cut from black cardstock & topped with a sequin. The leaves were mounted to the card over another one die cut from black cardstock & I attached the flowers, gently lifting the petals for added dimension.
The sentiment is from SSS Card-Exchanging Friends & is stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black. Finished off with Distress Ink splatters, 2 rounded corners & clear PPP sequins, thanks to the generosity of my IRL friend, Rosemary.  I think I need to make some more of these as the saying could not be more true.  Thank you so much for being my friends!
