Ombre Inking the Greta way

As most of you know, I love the PTI MIM challenges, so couldn't miss this week's ombre technique which I decided to combine with the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge to use blue. I bought PTI's Take Three die long ago, not knowing there were stamp sets designed to go with it.  Now those sets are about to be put in The Vault (doubles the cost), so I "had" to get the ones I wanted which included the winter set.  In the MIM video, Laurie uses a sponge to ink her stamp with 3 shades, but I think my stamps were too small.

So "the Greta way" to ombre ink a stamp was created--at least I haven't seen anyone else describe this method--LOL! I used VersaMagic Ocean Depth & Sea Breeze dewdrop pads & inked opposite sides of the stamp, leaving a small un-inked area between the 2 colors. Then I dabbed with a sponge to blend the inks & stamped. The hardest part of making this card was masking the windows so I could stamp in the right place.
Love the mixed font in the sentiment from the same set. The stamped squares were covered with clear Wink of Stella & I added clear sequins from my IRL friend, Rosemary.  I'm also entering the CAS challenge at Addicted to Stamps.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

  1. Your technique worked well, Greta! I love your card. Funny thing is I also own the Take Three Dies long ago but sold the one coordinating stamp set I owned. Hence, I've only used the die once or twice...so why am I keeping it???
