Fritz got to open his present early & made use of it yesterday. My sister is very talented. She made a pattern from the fleece jacket when she was here so she could make him a rain coat. He still hasn't adjusted to Oregon weather after spending his first 9 months in Phoenix--LOL!
Hubby wasn't thrilled with my white poinsettia card. He's not a fan of red, but to him a poinsettia should be red. When I bought the MFT dies I had in mind using my MFT red felt, so here's another poinsettia card. This one he liked & chose to send to a lovely woman who is a volunteer at the historical society where he visited last year to work on his genealogy. I finally used some of the beads I got over 15 years ago--made a great center for the flower. The fancy dies are Spellbinders. I'm entering the SSS Wednesday Anything Goes challenge.
Wishing you & your family a peaceful holiday filled with joy as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Today is the 5th anniversary of my wonderful dad's entry into heaven as the radio played Silent Night. I love you, Dad.
That is the cutest coat on him! Poor Fritz, I can see his wet fur on his legs. He is probably wondering where the sun is! I love the felt poinsettia. It makes a fantastic card. We never forget our loved ones and that is a nice tribute for him.

Hi, Greta! A belated comment to your Christmas post. Fritz still looks kinda' waterlogged, but I am sure he loves his raincoat!! The red poinsettia is beautiful. I don't like red very much either. :)
ReplyDeleteMy Mom died on Christmas Day in 1997. It is a bittersweet day for me, too. But, I have wonderful memories of her and find that I grow to be more like her as the years go by. Funny how that happens, isn't it??
Hope the rest of your year is a good one and that 2015 is the best ever!
Truly a stunning card with the poinsettia and beaded center! Your dog is so CUTE in his rain outfit! And, a wonderful photo of your Dad...great memory! My Dad passed in 1993. I truly miss his gentle patient spirit! Take care and may you have a happy healthy New Year!:-)

ReplyDeleteOh my, Greta - I had no idea your dad passed on Christmas Day. My heart goes out to you; I know your day was filled with a mixture of joy and sadness, just as ours was. My dad is still here, but, as I shared, we just don't know for how long. Silent Night...a beautiful song to transport your dad to heaven.
ReplyDeleteA most stunning red poinsettia, Greta, and the beaded center is not only the perfect special touch, but a fabulous use for your 15 year old beads. The woman at the Historical Society will be thrilled to receive this gem.
As for Fritz, sporting his wet weather gear: only toooo handsome! Obviously, the talent-gene runs in your family. I know your dad is proud of you and your sister!
