Some time ago I got one of those unexpected e-mails where you read it twice to be sure it really says you're invited to join a team. Sure enough, Words 2 Scrap By really did ask me to be part of the I-Team, as in Inspiration. I'm thrilled to join these talented ladies: Annie, Bobbi, Penny & Sybrina. Hope you'll check out our challenges "using words to inspire creativity." For January, you pick the hashtag--something with special meaning for you.
I chose Celebrate Life & made a birthday card using the Penny Black balloon dies cut from Penny Black Madison Papers with a bit of Stickles added. The texture on the background panel is done with PTI canvas/linen impression plate. 
When I hear people say "I don't celebrate birthdays anymore" I think of so many people in my work as a nurse who would give anything to be able to celebrate one more year. Life is precious & I say Celebrate Life! Thanks so much for all your encouragement, friendship & support.

ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about birthdays - last year my mom was moaning & groaning that she was turning 57, and I kept thinking "be grateful". Sure, it's still a shock to look in the mirror and not see a 20 year old face, but I'm eternally glad I'm still here to get older :)
