Happy Wishes

Slow start to the day with me still trying to get rid of this congestion & cough and hubby managing to burn his hand.  It's one of those things where you say to yourself--"how could I be that stupid?!--so I didn't say anything.  He's going to have some blisters, but isn't in a lot of pain, thankfully.  
Anyway, I'm finally getting my card posted for Ellen Hutson Mix it Up with Concord & 9th.  I used my first C&9 product, Flourish stamp set, so I'm also entering WCMC9. 

Finally used a bit of the stem stamped in a light gray.  I didn't like it, so went over the whole thing with my pumice stone Distress marker.  I used the same inks on the flowers & berries (Brilliance Pearlescent Poppy, Pearlescent Rust & Pearlescent Olive) just in different orders & amounts.  The white dots are done with my extra fine point Sharpie which works so much better for me than the white gel pen & the tiny splatters are DI hickory smoke.  I stacked the words from EH Merry and Bright dies 2 high, colored with the pumice stone marker & covered them in Crystal Laquer.  A tiny gem replaces the dot & I decided against any other embellishments.  Not sure who I'll send this to, but think it could work for a masculine BD card.  I'm also entering Allsorts.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.  Please be safe if you're in the path of the winter storms.

Roses and Shiny Gold

We're enjoying the NFL playoffs, even though our team didn't make it.  Couldn't wait to use my new Impression Obsession Sketched Roses again & finished up this card between games.

This time I gold embossed on Bristol paper & colored with 2 pink & 2 green Zigs.  Then I spritzed heavily with gold Perfect Pearls for that awesome shimmer. 

This is my first card using the IO All-in-One Frames-Ovals which I cut from black cardstock & stacked 2 high.  I also cut the sentiment (Greetings Top Edgers) from black & attached it to the back of the frame before adhering it to the roses panel.  The card front was heat embossed with the same gold powder to match.  Sequins provide a bit more shine & the panel was mounted with fun foam.  I'm entering Impression Obsession, Allsorts, HLS Watercolor, Time Out & WAW.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

So Thankful

Three days to make & post a card thanks to this virus!  I'm getting better & thankfully it's only a cold.  Anyway, here's my card for PTI MIM Heat Embossed Stencil Backgrounds. 

I loved Melissa's distressed look, so I did that, too.  Fun to use my kraft felt for the Twig Wreath--layered up 2 of them.  Yes, it's still winter, but nothing says you can't send a Springy card to a friend!  The Butterfly Hope die cuts were stamped in Winter Wisteria (double for the outside, once for the inside) & Lemon Tart.  They're brushed with WOS for that beautiful shimmer & are layered onto the little branches from Twig Wreath die cut from Spring Moss.  The stenciled panel is Harvest Gold & the sentiment from Twig Wreath is stamped in Winter Wisteria.  Finished off with Nuvo yellow drops.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.  I'm also entering HLS Anything Goes with Dies,  Time Out & WAW.

PRS Create It Wednesday~A Graphic Hello

I'm so happy to bring you my first PRS Create It Wednesday post. 

I used a wintry color combo of Memento Teal Zeal & Gray Flannel with the fun graphic stamp set called Totally.  Two of the images were stamped diagonally across the card front--super easy to line up.  I added a bit of sparkle to the triangles with a Gelly Roll clear star pen. 

Love how the sketchy hello from This Moment stamp set goes great with the graphic images.  This simple one layer card can easily be mailed & works for a guy or a gal.  You could really change the look just by using different colors.  I'm entering Inkspirational, Penny Black & More (just got both stamp sets), SSS Monday & WAW.  This virus is hanging on, but I'm getting better.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

First Christmas Card for 2018

Apologies to those of you who are tired of Christmas cards, but they're my favorite to make.  I always like to play along with PTI MIM, but this week I've been trying to fight off a cold.  Thought I was winning, but today score one for the virus.  Can't wait any longer to make a card, so it's pretty simple. 

This is A La Carte week which gave me a chance to use Lexi's Small Images on Repeat technique.  I had wanted to use it again, but never did.  The sweet image is from Splits: 'Tis the Season & the sentiment is from Wreath for all Seasons.  The inks are Simply Chartreuse & Festive Berries. 

I added sparkle with a Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.  The card is slightly smaller at 3 3/4 x 5 inches.  I'm also entering ATSM, HLS Christmas, The Snippets Playground & WAW.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I'll check your blogs soon.  

Warm Wishes

Beautiful wintry color combo for Heather's December Color Challenge at Winnie & Walter.  I've been wanting to use Mini Scenery: Into the Woods again, so grabbed several Distress Inks & used a stamp positioner to ink & stamp multiple times. 

When I got the look I wanted, I spritzed the stamp with water & stamped again for a watercolor effect.  I always love shimmer, so I ended by misting with Perfect Pearls--beautiful in real life.  I die cut a Spellbinders oval from navy cardstock & attached the stamped panel behind it.  The sentiment is from Big, Bold, Seasons & I finished off with navy twine & some blue sequins.  This card will be sent to a friend with a winter birthday.  I'm also entering Country View Challenges, CropStop, DRU & WAW.  Stay safe & warm if you're in the deep freeze--luckily we're just cool with showers.  Thanks for taking time to stop by.
