Winter Hello

Winter hit us with a vengeance yesterday--freezing rain!  Glad I had hubby drive me to & from work.  We passed 4 cars in the ditch on our way home!  Slightly warmer today & the sheet of ice is gone. I won't miss commuting in bad weather!
I was lucky to win a gift certificate to Alleystamp for a win at Twofers challenge. I'd recommend you check them both out. Gave me a chance to order some Ken Oliver Color Burst powders! You sprinkle the powders & then spritz with water or the other way around--so fun! Here's my first background using Ultramarine Blue, Pthalo Green & Violet.  I also used my new SSS Snowflake Block die & SSS Hello Friends stamp set.  I used the die with self-adhesive Fun Foam--surprise, surprise, I know--haha! Discovered something new--using foam lets you reshape the die cut, so I glued it kind of wonky. Elizabeth Craft glitter provides a lot of sparkle. The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black & I heat embossed a pewter snowflake brad to match. One of hubby's new-found cousins says our Christmas card never arrived, so hubby sent this one to them. Also want to let everyone know how great SSS Customer Service is.  A promo code wouldn't work like it was supposed to, so they made it right plus covered my shipping costs. Can't beat that!  I'm entering these challenges: SSS Flickr, Curtain CallSSS Monday & CropStop. So glad you stopped by.

  3. Brilliant card Greta, love how you bkground turned out. I am sooooo tempted to get some of these burst powders, only thing stopping me is the miles of paints, H2O's, silks powers etc etc. I totally love how you used the snowflake die, I have it and have only used the once but love the idea of using wonky, broadens the use.
