A Happy Hello

We had a fun camping trip which included a new experience: watching pelicans fish in the bay.  I was absolutely mesmerized & took about 100 pictures knowing they probably wouldn't come out very good.  Thought you might enjoy a couple anyway.  I've never taken stamping supplies with me on our trips, but this time I did since it was a pretty simple design.
It came out OK, (posted here) but once I got home I decided it needed some layers. Here's the final version. I had trouble getting back into cardmaking, so started with my favorite PTI MIM challenge.  I don't use my Gelatos very often & couldn't wait to try out the technique in the video.  I used PTI Friendly Flowers & Wonderful Words: Hello with PTI inks Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Spring Moss, Limeade Ice & Spring Rain along with Versafine Vintage Sepia. The Gelatos rubbed over the stamped images are Peach, Pistachio & Metallic Blueberry.  I used the linen/canvas impression plate for a bit of texture.

First time to use these sweet peachy iridescent gems I got in close-out. I'm also entering the monthly challenge at Verve & SSS Wednesday.
Thanks so much for taking time to visit my blog.

  20. Greta, both cards are simply lovely!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time!
Your photos put a big smile on my face, because they remind me of my dear Dad.
Every time I visit him, our favorite hang-out place, is by the water.
We enjoy watching all the different birds, pelicans included.
It's always SO enjoyable & relaxing, & especially being there with my Dad!

Also, how fun that you took some supplies to create. I always have a hard time deciding "what" to take with me, when I'm gone for an extended vacation. But then I miss "creating" if I don't take anything. LOL!

HUGS to you, my friend! ♥

  24. I think it would be totally fun to watch pelicans doing their pelican-y thing. Love the gelatos card. I don't do much with mine so the more inspiration the merrier. I like how you jazzed up the congrats card.
