When I saw "Summer Fun" was the theme for Impression Obsessions's challenge I knew immediately that I wanted to use the IO Solid Tree stamp set. The tree was stamped in Distress Ink walnut stain & the swing in Memento Peanut Brittle with the seat colored in with a Memento Desert Sand marker. Somewhere I remember seeing leaves done by making dots with a marker. I gave it a try with Faber-Castell big brush May Green & Memento Pear Tart. Fun & very forgiving! The sentiment was inked with the May Green. I sponged on a little Distress Ink antique linen to ground the tree & wanted an impression of sunshine, so very lightly sponged Distress Ink squeezed lemonade with a dauber. Might be better if I'd sponged an entire background--too late now--LOL! Hard not to have some bling, so gave in & added the Stickles. I'm also entering Loves Rubberstamps, Add a Sentiment. Thanks so much for stopping by.
A beautiful CAS card and fabulous sentiment perfect for our current challenge. Thanks for playing along with us at Loves Rubberstamps this week. We're so glad that you did. Hugs, Wends x Loves Rubberstamps DT
ReplyDeleteOh how I would love to be on that swing!! Or perhaps even give Penelope a ride on my lap! This is so pretty Greta and so summery too!
ReplyDeleteHello Greta,
ReplyDeleteThat swing looks wonderful from the tree and your white dots adds a zing.
Great looking card,

ReplyDeleteI need to remember this sentiment more often...it is easy to get caught up in the business of life. Time for a long relaxing swing!

ReplyDeleteso lovely and serene, greta!!
ReplyDeleteAww, not only is the scene a simple pleasure but perfect for this season of warmer weather as well. It is a very pretty card!
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty Greta! Love the shimmery detail!
ReplyDeleteA lovely outdoor scene with the tree, Greta! And, lovely detail with the leaves on the tree...so pretty!:-)
ReplyDeleteAwww... this reminds me of my parents farmhouse. We had an old tire swing attached to a big oak tree and I remember just sitting out there swinging. Love the soft sponged accents and the glittery leaves!
ReplyDeleteThis is a sweet card, but it makes me think more of spring than summer. Probably because where I live everything is scorched by summer. I like it though.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet summer card, Greta!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty design, I really like the leaves you've created with the marker and stickles. I agree that it hard not to use some bling :) Cheers, Shirleyxx

ReplyDeleteLove how you created the leaves! Just Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love how you did the leaves with dots. Pretty card. I think swinging is the most relaxing thing to do.
ReplyDeleteVery creative with the leaves - it reminds me the beginning of spring when all the leaves are rushing to come out! The swing is the perfect addition onto the tree! Beautifully done, Greta!
ReplyDeletePerfect as is! I like the bit of sponging that highlights that beautiful tree!
ReplyDeleteSimply lovely!!
ReplyDeleteYour image reminds me of the huge tree in my grandparents' yard, on the farm, that we used to swing from. Oh, those were the days... Love your card...thank you for sparking such wonderful memories!
ReplyDeletehugs~c
Sweet, Greta. That little bit of stickles on the leaves is a nice pop.
ReplyDeleteOh WOW!! I love that technique for the leaves - and the bit of sparkle is perfect, of course you couldn't resist :) I like the partial sponging too!
