A Happy Hello

We had a fun camping trip which included a new experience: watching pelicans fish in the bay.  I was absolutely mesmerized & took about 100 pictures knowing they probably wouldn't come out very good.  Thought you might enjoy a couple anyway.  I've never taken stamping supplies with me on our trips, but this time I did since it was a pretty simple design.
It came out OK, (posted here) but once I got home I decided it needed some layers. Here's the final version. I had trouble getting back into cardmaking, so started with my favorite PTI MIM challenge.  I don't use my Gelatos very often & couldn't wait to try out the technique in the video.  I used PTI Friendly Flowers & Wonderful Words: Hello with PTI inks Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Spring Moss, Limeade Ice & Spring Rain along with Versafine Vintage Sepia. The Gelatos rubbed over the stamped images are Peach, Pistachio & Metallic Blueberry.  I used the linen/canvas impression plate for a bit of texture.

First time to use these sweet peachy iridescent gems I got in close-out. I'm also entering the monthly challenge at Verve & SSS Wednesday.
Thanks so much for taking time to visit my blog.

I really like the extra layer on the graduation card, Greta! It really brightens it up. And I love your Gelato technique! I gave it a try today and it ended in the trash. I need to watch the video again.

It was nice that you got to get away for a bit and what a great view you had. I love the water, it is so peaceful. Both of those cards are so pretty. I saw that video too and want to try the gelatos. They give such a soft look to your card.

Your photos are great, Greta! Sounds so peaceful and relaxing. Glad you were able to get away. Beautiful cards, with the layers on the first one, definitely turned up a notch from the first one. And love the sweet blooms on the second, so bright and sunny with the gelatos.

Greta, both cards are simply lovely!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time!
Your photos put a big smile on my face, because they remind me of my dear Dad.
Every time I visit him, our favorite hang-out place, is by the water.
We enjoy watching all the different birds, pelicans included.
It's always SO enjoyable & relaxing, & especially being there with my Dad!

Also, how fun that you took some supplies to create. I always have a hard time deciding "what" to take with me, when I'm gone for an extended vacation. But then I miss "creating" if I don't take anything. LOL!

HUGS to you, my friend! ♥

I think it would be totally fun to watch pelicans doing their pelican-y thing. Love the gelatos card. I don't do much with mine so the more inspiration the merrier. I like how you jazzed up the congrats card.
