Christmas in July plus Friendship

New items added to my sale pages.  You might see something you just gotta have!

I do love Christmas in July, so I have 2 more cards to show you today.  First up is a CAS gold & white card using Penny Black's flourish holly & ornately merry--2013 & 2014 stamps I still love. 

The holly branch & sentiment were gold embossed & the panel was die cut with W&W Essentials: Tilda Cutaways.  I added a couple cardstock layers for slight dimension & used gold Pico Embellisher dots on the berries.  I'm entering AAA, Allsorts, VOSP in July & PBSC.

The HA Flickr group used to regularly have 90 minute scrambles which I participated in as often as possible.  Today Cindy is reviving the challenge with Scramble 162 with the theme to make a long card.  You have until noon PT on 7/19 to join in.  I continued with Christmas in July & made a one layer emboss resist card.

The HA stamp set is Happy Holly Days--a prize I won long ago in a Scramble.  I gold embossed the holly branch & sentiment on a 6 1/2 x 3 1/2 white card.  Then I blended Evergreen Bough Distress Ink letting it fade out to white.  I added some little water spots & blotted with a paper towel.  They didn't show up enough, so I splattered some gold perfect pearls mixed with water--beautiful sheen in person.

Christmas Red Stickles were added to the berries.  It's funny how long cards usually take me to finish & yet the ones I make for Scrambles are often some of my favorites.  I'm entering ABNH, a2z Scrapbooking & Stamplorations CAS challenge.

My last card is for Altenew's July Inspiration Challenge.  I wanted to try again stamping Majestic Bloom--a flower with 4 layers. 

I used Classic Kraft for the outline image, so you really can't see it.  The other layers are Sweet Blush, Pale Peony & Berry Sorbet.  For some reason I was able to line up the layers pretty easily, so guess practice does help--haha!

The center & little leafy branches were stamped in Summer Sunrise & the sentiment from Painted Greetings was stamped in Versafine Clair Acorn.  I lightly brushed the bottom & right edges with Summer Sunrise.  I die cut the PTI rectangle of little holes & then used the Altenew Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover Die--love the look!  The mats are Berry Sorbet & Summer Sunrise cardstock & I added a few sequins for embellishment.  I'm also entering PB&M, Stamping Sensations & Die Cut Divas.

ITP & MB

I haven't used my PTI Cover Up: Diamonds stamp in quite awhile.  So glad the current ITP LFF made me pull it out.  I embossed in Liquid Platinum on watercolor paper & then used Distress Inks peacock feathers & pine needles for ink smooshing.  I did several layers, drying in between each one.

Tropical Teal cardstock was a good match, so I used it for the mat & the PTI Delicates die cut.  The sentiment from PTI Scripted is stacked 6 high & heat embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  The die cut was a little too stark for my taste, so I stamped in Versamark using a dots image from PTI Gathered Garden & embossed with Liquid Platinum.

I really like this color combo & hopefully the recipient will, too!  I'm also entering Country View Challenges & Virginia's Show & Share.

I had an idea for the July Outside the Box Challenge & started by die cutting 2 small & 1 large MB Precious Ornaments from self-adhesive foam.  Wasn't happy with my original plan, but that's OK because I ended up with 2 cards!  All the ornaments were covered in silver foil.  The frames & mat for the ornaments were die cut with PTI Pierced Feature Frames & the frames were mounted with foam tape.  The cards have the same basic design, but do look different by changing up the layers.
For the single ornament a black Pico Embellisher dot was added as well as an additional layer to give the thin red border tying in with the red rectangle.

This card is just slightly smaller than A2.  I'm entering ABC Christmas Card Challenge.

For the 2 smaller ornaments, I left in the center of the bows & added tiny red Nailhead stickers--been in my stash forever!  I wasn't completely happy with the look of the ornaments on the gray striped printed paper mat.  Then I remembered my fine point silver pen & I held my breath as I drew some stripes using a ruler.  Amazing what a difference that made!

This card is A2 size.  Gray & black are not usually what I grab for Christmas cards, but I do like how these turned out.  I'm entering Outside the Box & VOSP in July.

Summer & Winter

Lots of new or barely used products listed in my sale pages, so why not take a look.

I loved all the projects made with the SSS Bouquet of Roses stencil when it was released, so "had" to get it!  I used ink daubers with DOs picked raspberry, abandoned coral & lucky clover.

The sentiment from SSS Thoughtful Messages was stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist--a nice shade of gray.  I covered the sentiment with purple tape & splattered with watered down ink from a black Zig.  I debossed a frame using my score board & mounted the panel to gray cardstock using fun foam.  Finished off with Wedding Dress Pico Embellisher dots.  I'm entering SSS Flickr Challenge 127 & Time Out.

One year at summer camp when I was a kid, I got my cabinmates to use "Christmas in July" for our cabin's theme.  So you see, my love of Christmas began long ago.  Here's my entry for Christmas Kickstart, CHNC 445, Retro Rubber, Stamplorations Theme & Sketch and Stamplorations Never-Ending Anything Goes.
One of Jo's inspiration cards used the same Stamplorations image from Coffee for all Seasons which I got in 2017.

She inspired me to use red, but I went the simple route of emboss resist.  I used gold detail powder & festive berries Distress Ink going darker to lighter from the bottom right to the top left corner.  Using DI made it easy to remove the red from the whip cream with a sparkle pen & to color the cinnamon stick with a tea dye DI marker.

I used festive berries to stamp the HA sentiment from the 2011 Merriest Christmas Wishes set--still a favorite.  Instead of real splatters this time, I used a PRS splatter image & Delicata Golden Glitz ink. The focal point was attached to a kraft square with foam tape & I decided against embellishments.

Winnie & Walter and Ink to Paper

One of my newest W&W products is the Ticking Stripe stencil.  I've been wanting to use it for a plaid, so blended Altenew Frosty Pink & Dew Drops to get as close as I could to the W&W June/July Color Combo challenge.  It's really beautiful in person, but I have a hard time photographing soft colors.

The die cut/stamped flower is W&W In Bloom: Eva's Favorite Flowers & the dark gray sentiment is from The Big, The Bold & The Happy.  I made a dark gray frame with PTI Pierced Feature Frames & the mat is a lighter gray.  I popped up the top bloom & added Wedding Dress Pico Embellisher drops.  The card is already in the mail & hopefully will be a happy surprise for the recipient.  I'm also entering Virginia's Show & Share. 


I'm getting in at the last minute for ITP LFF Paper Scraps.  I save every tiny piece of my PTI cardstock & printed papers.  All the papers I used are from that stash.

So fun to use some of my newest stamps & dies: PTI Simple Stems & Vogue Vases.  The cardstocks are Soft Stone, Spring Rain, Blueberry Sky, Autumn Rose & Scarlet Jewel.  The inks are Enchanted Evening & Scarlet Jewel.  I popped up the frame with fun foam.  I'm also entering Die Cut Divas & The Snippets Playground.

Birthday & Friendship

Finished my homework for Altenew's 3D Floral Focus class & now I have a couple summer birthday cards ready to go.  Day 4 was called Changing up the Layers. 

The technique is to add or subtract layers.  I've doubled up layers of die cut flowers in the past, so I tried using the top layer of the bloom in the Fantasy Floral die set on it's own.  I added it into my bouquet for a bit more blue.  The layers of the bloom are all the same blue cardstock with the bottom layer plain, second layer covered in Dazzle Versamark & the top layer clear heat embossed.

I added a scored partial frame, white Pico Embellisher dots & a sentiment from Painted Greetings.  I attached the panel with fun foam to the blue mat which had been covered in the Versamark ink.  I'm also entering Die Cut Divas.
 
Next is Day 6, Combining Stamps & Dies.  None of my stamps were very similar to my 3D die cut flowers, so I pulled out the mini set called You Make Me Happy--a gift from my friend, Cat.  Thought it might work for the background & gotta say--I love the result!

The die cut bloom from the Layered Floral Elements die set was cut from 2 shades of purple cardstock & the leaves from aqua & vellum.  The sentiment from Painted Greetings was stamped in Delicata Silvery Shimmer & I added silver Pico Embellisher dots.  I'm also entering Inkspirational (flower with 3 layers, 3 vellum branches, 5 dots.)

My final card was inspired by Judy's inspiration for the ModSquad challenge.  I had fun stamping SSS Sketch Ranunculus images in SSS Antique Gold & coloring them with 3 Zigs & a waterbrush.

I heat embossed gold dots using a Quickie Glue pen instead of ink.  The panel was cut into 3 & attached with fun foam to a purple panel.  The sentiment from Painted Greetings was gold embossed on vellum & gold sequins finish it off.  I'm also entering The 30 Day Coloring Challenge, Inkspirational (3 of each image, 3 panels, 5 sequins), SSS Monday & The Flower Challenge.
