Easter Cards

I had a sick day, but not respiratory, thankfully.  Yesterday we had quite the Spring day with snow, rain, sun, hail, sun, rain!  Now we're back to Spring with lots of sun, cool wind & cold nights.  Life seems like a sci fi movie these days, but we all have to take it seriously to protect ourselves & others.  Sure glad I have cardmaking to give me something else to think about.
I'm working on Easter cards & this one was inspired by the Pinkfresh March challenge.  I decided to do sort of a color block design with the inspiration colors, except for the dark rose.
The inks I used are Brilliance Pearlescent inks:  Coral (a soft pink), Jade, Blue & Yellow.  I framed the sentiment from PFS Delicate Wreath which was stamped in Brilliance Starlite Black.  The foliage is PFS Dainty Blossoms--love that die set!  If you look close, you might be able to see the Delicate Wreath clear embossed in the background & the white gauche splatters.  I'll put an Easter greeting on the inside.  I'm also entering DCD.

Talk about totally different--here's my second card using SSS Spring Flowers & Poppystamps sentiment die.  Don't think I've ever used a black background for an Easter card, but I love how it makes the focal point & sentiment pop.
I found a pack of black chevron embossed cardstock I'd totally forgotten I had & now I can't wait to use it again!  The bloom & leaves were embossed in SSS Antique Gold & then colored with Altenew watercolor markers using Erum's technique.  I just dabbed with the markers & sprized with water.  When they were dry I added gold splatters to the background & the die cuts.
The die cut sentiment was cut apart so I could arrange the 2 words which I colored with a Spellbinders Golden Age pen.  I tied on black twine recycled from something (can't remember what), slightly bent the leaves & attached the bloom with foam at the top only.  I'm entering JUGs, SSS Flickr, Kathy's 30 Day Coloring ChallengeVirginia's Show & Share.

  11. Glad to hear your sick day was not due to respiratory issues. I agree, the world seems to be chaos, but luckily we have our craft to keep us happy and confined for the duration. Your cards are so pretty and I'm keen to try that method of colouring - it looks super easy and so effective. Keep well.
